Vanderbilt Staff On-Site Visit – What Should I Expect?

I recently received an invitation for an on-site visit for a staff position after going through multiple interview rounds. The PI and the Outreach and Communications Manager mentioned that it isn't a formal interview, so I was curious about what that usually means. Does it typically indicate that you're one of the final candidates, or is it still part of the evaluation process?

I was also wondering what the on-site visit is usually like. What does the day typically involve? Are there meetings with the PI and lab members, a lab tour, or anything else I should expect? I'd really appreciate any insights from any of you. Thanks so much!
