Summit Mills.

We are looking at buying an expensive home in the Summit Mills Subdivision in Summit Township out by Vrooman road. I'm curious if anyone lives out here could tell me the bylaws and cc/cr laws of the HOA? We are rly digging the home itself and the property it sits on but I am nervous about the possibility of an hoa just bc I know what they're capable of.

The largest and most beautiful Blue Jay that lives in the wood behind my house.

Everyday on and off this Blue Jay and another large one are at the feeder while 2 to 3 medium sized ones that I can never catch well on camera keep look out in the trees. Its quite interesting to watch them communicate with eachother and watch out for one another. I can't tell the 2 large Blue Jay's apart due to their size comparison, and the only reason I even know there are 2 large Jay's are bc I watched them in quick succession come to the feeder and feed one right after the other and I realized they were definitely similar in size. I know this is long winded over a common bird but it means a lot to me bc I love Blue Jay's a lot. They remind me of my mama. She was a fighter.💙🩵👊🐦

The Return of My Massive Female Cardinal: A Sign of Spring

I'm thrilled to share the return of my massive female cardinal, a welcome sign of spring! This beautiful bird has been a part of my backyard for the past eight years, just like the blue jay and male cardinal. I’ve shared a picture of the male cardinal in this thread, but I want to focus on the female today.

The female cardinal is a sight to behold with her reddish brown feathers and petite frame, making her one of the most stunning backyard birds I’ve ever seen. She has a unique personality and often perches right outside my window, giving me a chance to admire her up close.

I was particularly excited to see her this spring as she’s one of the first birds to return, signaling the start of a new season. The sight of her beautiful orange beak is a reminder that warmer days are just around the corner.

I’m hoping she’ll stick around for the season, and I can’t wait to see her build a nest and raise a family. If you’re a birdwatcher like me, keep an eye out for her in your backyard, and let me know if you’ve had any special encounters with cardinals this spring!

I love seeing all the birds that visit my backyard. It’s a joy to watch them come and go, and each one has its unique personality. Have you had any notable bird sightings in your backyard recently? Share your stories and photos in the comments below!

p.s. to clarify since ppl want to think this is AI, its not. The caption is yes, and I usually do use chat gpt to write for me bc I'm actually learning disabled and have a raging case of adhd so excuse me for using chat gpt for good instead of evil, I promise it wasnt meant malicious. the pic is real, the bird is real. I'll get more pics as time goes on

I’ve had this same blue jay visiting my yard for over eight years now, and at this point he honestly feels like part of the family. Every single spring he comes back, and every year I catch myself looking for him again the second the weather starts warming up.

He’s raised families here over the years and seems to know this yard is home. What’s funny is that even though I have a small pond, he still prefers the standing feeder and the bird bath over everything else. He’ll sit in the trees watching the yard before flying down like he owns the place.

I see him almost every day, and I still try to get pictures of him whenever I can, even after all these years. Half the time he flies off before I can get a clear shot, but every once in a while I manage to catch a good one like this.

There’s just something really special about realizing a wild animal has chosen your yard as part of its life for nearly a decade.
