🚨 A major housing project could be coming to downtown Rochester, NH.
The City of Rochester has selected Cyrus North LLC to redevelop the former Care Pharmacy property at 161 South Main Street, a nearly 6-acre site purchased by the city in 2025 to help address housing needs and continue downtown revitalization.
The proposal includes approximately 92-150 apartment units, 16 townhouses, commercial space, and a variety of resident amenities. One detail that is already generating discussion: Rochester Mayor Chuck Grassie stated that some of the proposed apartments could rent for as low as $1,000 per month, while still being offered at market-rate pricing.
According to the mayor, the project is intended to provide housing options for young professionals and families while bringing new investment and activity to the South Main Street corridor. The project is still in its due diligence phase and must undergo additional approvals before construction can begin
