Could never do this on days.

Could never do this on days.

Eating chips and drinking an energy drink while doing my job and watching Disney, there's no one around, I could never do this on days.

Night shift is finally happening

Today is my first day on the night shift and I'm excited. Today i did tons of things and it wasn't even 5pm.

I chilled, ate, prepared a meal and cleaned the house and work hasn't started yet.

After spending 7 years on day shifts and middle shifts i couldn't take it anymore.

Finally, night shift is happening. I did a week in January and I loved it i got so much more done and even slept better.

(I've always struggled to sleep at night anyways)

NIGHT SHIFT IS FINALLY HAPPENING

Oh my dear nighters it's finally happening..i have been battling for months wanting to go on this shift for the longest time... Ok back story: I work in a 4 star hotel 3 days mornings 7am-3pm, 2 days evenings 3pm -11pm after six years of doing this I couldn't take it anymore...the pressure the clients multitasking, i couldn't focus on my own tasks anymore, everything happening at once, all the things I have to deal with and everyone goes through reception and i mean all reservations of all departments, all the clients, restaurant, bar, spa, hotel .. the phone ringing none stop I started hallucinating the ringtone when im alone at home. On mornings I'd come back home exhausted I'd eat something real quick and I'd sleep in right away...wake up at 5 am and do it all over again.

Then came the night... I had to replace my coworker who was off on a holiday...i did one week and my mental health was better off to be honest.. everything was closed anyway so my work volume dropped 98% of what i used to do on days all that for the same salary (it's a hotel chain in france so everyone is paid the same in the same department despite the hours) i felt like it's a cake walk like so easy...I used to stay up a lot in my teenage years playing video games all night and sleeping in during daytime so the rhythm wasn't unusual. It just felt very familiar.

My mental health got better my body even got a lot more relaxed, I slept better, i was excited for things again, excited to go walking around town when the sun was up, started working out again, I was writing again and being able to think clearly....it changed my whole life.. so i asked to be PERMEMNANTLY put on nights.. I requested the shift whenever it's possible...I showed initiative..alas to no avail for 4 months...until today i got the news... starting from next month i will be the night audit at the hotel, PERMEMNANTLY and i am excited that I could breathe again and be able to go about my days and work in a quiet environment.

This sub is mostly negative and gloomy so i wanted to add some positivity and light!!! I've always enjoyed the peace and the quiet and my time alone, having one or two people to connect with is more than enough for me, and I have found that i had very very low tolerance for people plus I LOVE working alone. My life is solitary and I love it, I'm a very independent person who enjoys being by themselves. (I'd rather stay home play video games then go out anyway) so i feel like it's a perfect fit. All i could think about is how excited I am that I'll be able to do the things I love doing without the mental exhaustion that comes from having to interact with 100+ clients a day plus coworkers, not to mention NO MANAGERS breathing down my neck and me having to ask them for permission in regards to decisions and things like that .. so annoying. Just wanted to say I AM SO EXCITED

First "date" through a dating app.

So I matched with this girl on HER. We have been speaking for a couple days. Today was the parade at the city that I'm in so we agreed to meet. We met, we talked and then she asked me a bunch of questions about my life and then she told me that she's in an open relationship with three different people and she found me cute and everything. But I couldn't help but feel like I was out of place like sort of. I didn't belong. She was very open about her life which I really don't mind, but for me it felt a bit too much and I was uncomfortable with the idea that she's meeting people left and right and going On dates and everything and she has a relationship with three different people and i was like... okay. What are you looking for here? She said that she's about meeting people. That's all and we have a very different aspect of a relationship. She's already been in a very committed relationship before which I understand but I wasn't. I never did anything remotely close to dating any woman and I can't believe that happened. I'm also glad it happened because now I know how I feel about the whole thing. What do you guys Think have you had any experiences like this before?

Night shift audit at another hotel

Hello everyone, so my story is this. I am currently working in a four-star hotel in France in the middle of nowhere in The vineyards. I have recently asked to be switched to night shift. (I will be getting roughly the same salary) My manager was happy because the current night shift is chaotic and she does nothing and so he wants me to replace her. He was really happy though. It's taking forever to make the replacement and they can't find anyone to replace me. So my question is this. I have found another offer that is paid more for a night shift audit at a five-star hotel and it's basically the same road to work for me. It's like 26 minutes drive. Do you think I should apply?

Hello all, I work in a 4 star hotel in a wine village in France. I reached my breaking point working 7am-3pm shifts (where the chaos is but i finish early) and the horrible 3pm-11pm shift. (Sucks I can't do shit before my shift my whole day feels paralysed) I can't stand people anymore. I did nights for a week it was heaven for me.

I asked my manager to be permanently put on the night shift and he agreed. Now I'm just waiting for a new hire to take my spot and for the current night to leave.

Most days I'm too tired I can't do anything my head is buzzing and there is no more energy left. Especially on the morning shift and the afternoon shift i just wake up 30 minutes before i have to leave.

How did night shift improve your life if that's the case?
