Hello everyone, I wanted to update you that I have been unbanned.

I submitted an appeal to Reddit, and they confirmed that my account should not have been shadow banned.

I'm sharing this to encourage others in similar situations not to give up on appealing! Even though it can sometimes feel like Reddit never looks at appeals, I and others are examples that they are :)

Sadly, I have been shadow banned.

I think this may be because I frequent this community trying to help users understand what a shadowban is and how to resolve it so perhaps that means that my posts / comments were too similar to each other so it got flagged as spam.

I'll try and appeal but I'll keep helping out here when I can hopefully we can get to the bottom of this lol!

I’m just a regular user but I enjoy helping out where I can. For example I enjoy helping those in the shadow ban subreddit when I can and similar noob friendly communities.

I have a few questions I wanted some clarification on, and that I wasn’t able to find a good answer to. These will help me understand Reddit better and hopefully support other users in the future.

1. Can shadow banned users buy / have Reddit premium?

2. How does reddit premium affect shadow bans? Or does it not affect it all?

3. Does the age of the account contribute to whether a user will or will not be shadow banned?

4. If a user has multiple accounts on reddit under a single email address and one of their accounts are shadow banned does this mean all of their other accounts will be banned?

5. Are users able to appeal specific subreddit bans?

6. Is there any rules that subreddit mods must follow when managing their users / community?

7. I’ve seen some subreddits have been banned. Is there any details on what caused the ban or is that only shown to the moderation team?

8. Is there anything I’ve not asked that you think I should know?
