PPL (Pay Per Lead) vs Monthly fee

If you get customers through an online platform, which would you rather pay for?

Pay per lead: you only pay when a customer contacts you. You pay nothing in slow months, but a busy month costs more and you pay even if the job doesn't close.

Flat monthly fee: one set price with unlimited leads. Your cost is the same every month, but you pay even when it's quiet.

Flat fee alternative to Thumbtack/Yelp for local businesses. Looking for feedback

Hi ya'll I built Region Beacon, a local services marketplace:

https://regionbeacon.com

What businesses get:

  • Flat price: $14.99/month or $149/year. No pay-per-lead fees.
  • 0% commission: you keep the whole job.
  • Exclusive requests: a request sent to you isn't resold to competitors.
  • Direct contact: customers reach you directly, and payment can be handled off the platform.
  • Live broadcast requests: customers post jobs and businesses in range see them right away.
  • Live map: your business shows on an interactive map of local pros.
  • AI photo quotes: customers upload a photo of the job to get a quote started.
  • AI concierge: helps customers find the right business.
  • Built-in tools: messaging, quotes and bookings in one place.
  • No contract: cancel any time.
  • Launch offer: first month $4.99 with code LAUNCH499.

Looking for three kinds of feedback:

  1. The idea: Would you use it, and what's missing?
  2. The design: Does the site look trustworthy and easy to use? Is anything confusing, cluttered or broken, on desktop or mobile?
  3. I want to know:
    • As a business: what would make listing here worth it to you?
    • As a customer: what would make you use this to find a local pro?
