A Song for Tahoe: Five Years After Caldor
The Caldor Fire ignited five years ago today, and began its 15-day march toward Tahoe. Thankfully it was stopped near Meyers — but something else is now planned for the same ground: spraying glyphosate and other synthetic herbicides across thousands of acres. This video is a small glimpse into the needless risks being taken with Tahoe's forests, water, and community. In an FAQ about its plan, the Forest Service said "Planting windows are dependent on the availability of seedlings and the ability to contract the services." There's a meeting coming up soon with the spray plan on the agenda — it's our best chance to be heard. If you love Tahoe, please try to be there. Full details — and ways to speak up — are on the site mentioned at the end of the video.
