Pubs, distilleries, and breweries

I thought I would add a shoutout and thank you to Halifax/Nova Scotia for the amazing pub and craft beer culture! On our trip, in addition to the many donairs, garlic fingers, and a lobster dinner at the Shore Club, we tried Battery Park in Dartmouth for beers (we added some YEG brewery stickers to the decor). Yum! After hiking Cape Split, Sea Level Brewing flights hit the spot and enjoyed in absolutely gorgeous surroundings. Next up, Salt Box in Mahone Bay for ciders. 36 ° outside, they went down in 2 seconds. Ironworks Distillery blueberry esprit - omg 😍 Alexander Keith's, grabbed one to enjoy under the radar on the Harbourfront (ssh). And finally, Good Robot and Propeller Arcade Brewing in Halifax. Both excellent - great service, got some merch. Thanks and cheers!

Three donairs tried

After much research in advance of a trip to your fair city, my husband and I had time to try three donairs: Randy's, Tony's, and Revana (King of Donair was in the opposite direction unfortunately, and we were starving after clocking 25k steps).

Randy's: all the elements but may as well have eaten it with a shovel. It was a hot mess and couldn't even be held. Delicious though if not, dare I say, too saucy.

Tony's: more traditional presentation. Good meat to sauce ratio, fresh pita. The meat at Randy's was maybe a tad tastier but just by a salt grain.

Revana: Not enough sauce, kind of just meh, skimpy on toppings. They got the sub order wrong though and left half the order out entirely which I guess is user error for not checking before leaving but, per above, we were starving. Also a 30 minutes wait. Garlic fingers were good but that's not what we were judging.

#1 Tony's

#2 Randy's

...

#3 Revana (would not try again).

Cape Split Trail

Beautiful, not muddy at all today. Suggest walking it clockwise as it saves the easier part of the loop for heading out. Great checking out Sea Level Brewing afterwards too.

Poorly timed traffic lights

This is just an airing of grievances, but whoever timed the traffic lights around Grant MacEwan west towards the 104 ave Safeway needs their head checked. The wait times at lights are overly long and the sequence so poorly timed, I just need to complain about it. And another thing, there really needs to be an advance green at 109 and 99 Ave northbound. Someone is eventually going to be T-boned.

Thank you for your consideration in my griping.

Lie detector test

I just finished the documentary and it's clear that Mackenzie is a psychopathic liar. It made me wonder, if she was guilty and took a lie detector test, would a psychopath be able to pass it? I think I hated her parents even more than her.

MVPs: Davion's dad and sister.
