Phew… Home Widget is ready for iPhone Duo, one week before launch 😅

Hey r/HomeKit 👋 It's me again ;) developer of Home Widget.

With the iPhone Duo landing next week, I spent the last few weeks making sure everything works on both screens, and I'm relieved to say it's ready (and more reliable than ever).

What you see in the video:
• Camera mosaic from a Lock Screen control, carried over when you unfold
• Lights: brightness and color in a couple of taps
• Thermostat control
• Interactive widgets on the cover screen: shades set right inside the widget
• Lock Screen widget to open the gate without unlocking
• Widget backgrounds that match the wallpaper on each screen

Also new lately:
• Temperature trends on sensors
• More reliable HomeKit loading and sensor values

Home Widget also runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.

Honest question: who's actually planning to buy the iPhone Duo at that price? 👀

Available here on the App Store

P.S. I also have a new website dedicated to the app: https://homewidget.app
Let me know what you think ;)

Thanks guys — Home Widget 1.10.2 was supposed to be a small update

Hi r/HomeKit,

Thanks guys, really!

After I shared version 1.10 here, I received a lot of precise feedback, screenshots and very useful edge cases. Version 1.10.2 is technically just a patch release — neither a major nor a minor update — but it ended up becoming much more substantial than I had planned. It is now available on the App Store.

A few changes came directly from the public discussion here:

  • Feedback from u/Lanceuppercut47 and u/pacoii pushed the Camera Mosaic further. You can now choose and reorder cameras, feature between 0 and 3 of them, optionally display room names, and the labels and audio controls are clearer.
  • u/Extreme-Nerve3029 suggested a faster way to find actions. There is now one search field for accessories, sensors, scenes and other actions.
  • The thermostat reports from u/KitchenLegitimate799 helped me add support for HomeKit thermostats exposed as HeaterCooler accessories.

There are a few other additions too:

  • Extra Large widgets are now available on Apple Vision Pro.
  • Settings now keeps a history of panel backups that you can restore. The app also creates a backup automatically before a migration, restoration or panel deletion.
  • Newly added widgets use the most recently created compatible panel by default.
  • The Freemium allowance of five name or icon customizations is now explained more clearly.

The less visible fixes were just as important:

  • Background sensor refresh is working again after becoming unreliable for many users.
  • Panels are protected from being overwritten while HomeKit data is still loading after a restart.
  • Slow HomeKit startup is handled more safely.
  • Action confirmations are respected again on Apple Watch.
  • Automatic dismissal after opening a camera has been fixed.

This all comes on top of version 1.10: the Camera Mosaic, thermostat controls, whole-room lighting actions, camera access from Control Center, and the new Clear, Tinted and Liquid Glass widget appearances for iOS 26.

I use HomeKit every day too, so these detailed reports are incredibly useful. Thank you to everyone who commented, tested a beta or helped me reproduce something strange. You genuinely shaped this update ;)

For anyone who does not know the app, Home Widget for HomeKit lets you create advanced widgets and Control Center controls for HomeKit. It is available on the App Store here.

Home Widget 1.10 adds the Camera Mosaic and much more!

Hi r/HomeKit,

Home Widget 1.10 is now available on the App Store. The current public build is 1.10.1.

During the small beta, testers sent detailed feedback and many of the final refinements came directly from it. Thank you to everyone who took part.

I build Home Widget on my own. For version 1.10, I focused on shortening the distance between seeing what is happening at home and acting on it.

The biggest addition is Camera Mosaic. One tap from a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, or from Control Center, opens your HomeKit cameras in one view. You can show all cameras or only the ones you choose, then tap any camera to open it and zoom on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

Other changes in 1.10 include:

  • thermostat controls directly from widgets;
  • whole-room actions to switch, dim or colour every light together;
  • a Control Center control that opens the mosaic or a camera of your choice;
  • Clear, Tinted and Liquid Glass widget appearances designed for iOS 26;
  • more control over what each item displays, including text-only layouts, a configurable secondary line and iCloud-synced icon choices;
  • every reading exposed by multi-sensor Matter accessories;
  • better Lock Screen panels, interaction feedback and stability;
  • eleven new languages, plus a native-speaker review of every existing translation.

Existing Lifetime Premium purchases remain lifetime purchases: there is no forced switch to a subscription.

Download Home Widget on the App Store

I do not have a marketing team behind the app, so thoughtful feedback, an App Store rating or recommending it to another HomeKit user makes a very concrete difference.

If you try the Camera Mosaic, I would especially like to know whether one global camera selection is enough for you, or whether choosing a different set of cameras for each action or widget would be useful.

I’ll be here to answer questions and collect feedback.

[Developer] Home Widget 1.10 beta: camera mosaic from widgets, Lock Screen and Control Center — 50 TestFlight spots

Hi r/HomeKit,

I’m Clément, the developer of Home Widget for HomeKit. Version 1.10.0 is almost ready, and I’m opening 50 TestFlight spots for a final round of real-world testing before the public App Store release, which is coming very soon.

The feature I’m most excited about is a new camera mosaic: you can put all your HomeKit cameras one tap away from a Home Widget widget — including the Lock Screen — or from an iOS Control in Control Center. You can also open an individual camera directly and zoom the video on iPhone or Apple Watch.

This update also adds:

  • Whole-room light controls: switch, dim, or change the color of every light in a room at once.
  • Thermostat temperature control directly from widgets.
  • Full iOS 26 widget appearances: Clear, Tinted, Light and Dark styles, Liquid Glass integration, improved Lock Screen layouts, and transparent backgrounds that follow the Home Screen appearance.
  • watchOS 26 Smart Stack suggestions when an open door or window, an unlocked lock, or forgotten lights need attention.
  • Improved synchronization, widget configuration, and interaction feedback.
  • Eleven new languages, plus a complete proofreading pass on all existing translations.

TestFlight link for r/HomeKit — limited to 50 testers:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/HJjYGPep

A quick note about Premium access in TestFlight:

  • If you already own Premium in the App Store version, you will remain Premium in the beta.
  • Otherwise, each TestFlight build includes a seven-day Premium trial, so you can test every feature properly.

This temporary beta access does not grant a Premium licence for the App Store version.

I would especially like feedback on:

  • The camera mosaic with different numbers and brands of HomeKit cameras.
  • Opening cameras from Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Center.
  • Room controls with mixed light types.
  • Thermostat controls.
  • Clear/Tinted/Light/Dark appearances on iOS 26.
  • watchOS 26 Smart Stack suggestions.
  • Any translation or layout issue.

If you report a problem, including your iPhone/Apple Watch model, OS version, accessory model and a screenshot will help me reproduce it much faster.

There are only 50 places in this TestFlight group, but the final App Store version will be available very soon. I do not have the complete press kit ready yet, but I can provide additional screenshots or information on request.

Thank you to everyone here who has tested Home Widget, reported issues, or challenged me to improve it over the years. I’ll stay in the thread and answer questions.
