5 years out

Hi! I had GD with my son and it was rough. Diagnosed at 18 weeks and by the time I was induced at 37 weeks, I was up to insulin shots 4 times a day. Even with that, my morning numbers were never truly under control. I tried everything. My dad has T2D, I am obese, and so I was convinced since I had all the risk factors that I would have T2D by now.

Well - we are almost 6 years out from when my son was born and I just had my annual physical today. A1C is 5.1. Not even prediabetic.

I have been on a GLP-1 agonist sort of intermittently, which is likely helping. And I know I am not out of the woods yet. But everything I read when I was pregnant made me believe it was an inevitability within 5 years... So the fact that I am firmly in the "normal" and not even "prediabetic" range makes me really, really happy.

And my son also is doing great. No blood sugar issues at birth and so far, so good (knock on wood.)

Just wanted to share, since it would have made me feel a touch better reading something like this while I was in the thick of it all!!

Wishing you and your little ones health!

Should be fun putting this together! Local guy selling lots at 50 percent off face.

Have you all used A series for $0.15? Any issues?.

Newbie here...

I hope that it's not too much of a taboo to send a card from travels. A slot opened up now and I am traveling for work in Oaxaca, Mexico... So sent a postcard to Japan from here instead of the US. Thoughts??

Found these guys at a garage sale and thought they were super cool... But googling and image searches don't show anything. Anyone know what I should search to see if there is any history, interest, etc.?
