What the Black Experience Like at NCSU?

I'm a Black girl and I'm entering my senior year of high school. I'm trying to get into the civil engineering program at NCAT or NCSU (NCSU is my top because I want to experience a different area), but I've heard mixed reviews about the experience of being a POC at State. If you're Black and currently attend NCSU, please be honest in terms of community and the overall culture over there, as well as overall opportunities to connect with other Black people. I also want to know if you actually see the diversity on campus as other people claim?

Q: What is the Black experience like at NCSU?

What are my chances of getting accepted into engineering at NCSU?

I'm currently a rising senior in high school but I'm concerned for the likelihood of me getting into NCSU's civil engineering program. I currently have a 3.9 gpa unweighted and 4.5 weighted. I took 7 AP classes so far, including AP Calc AB which I got a 93 in. I plan to take 3 APs next year including physics. I am currently ranked 56/463 in my class, so the top 12%. However, I only have an SAT score of 1260 and an ACT score of 28. I plan on retaking the SAT in August.

Also, how much do extracurricular activities play a role in your acceptance? I've been in marching band for 3 years, approaching my 4th year for wind ensemble, plus im training at a pre-professional dance company. I have about 100 and a half hours for service learning hours and im getting 13 and a half more this summer. I also am becoming the president of my school's chapter for Black Student Union. Some of my peers say I have a pretty decent chance of getting in, but I know that NCSU's engineering programs are very competitive.

Any tips or insight would be very much appreciated!!!
