Samsung does not allow syncing steps from other apps or trackers. Why?

I just got a fitbit air and was frustrated that my step counts were vastly different between Google health and Samsung health.. apparently they don't allow other apps or trackers to sync steps anymore. Anyone know why? And if this is a temporary issue that will be resolved or permanent?

Trading in my flip 7 after one year. My thoughts throughout the year:

Before getting a new z fold 7 last August, I was very happy with my s22. I was devastated when it got ran over and I had to replace it, but was excited about the flip.

First thoughts-

- very cool. Loved closing it and using the small outer screen.

- enjoyed being able to finally fit a whole phone in my pocket.

6 month thoughts-

- Definitely missing having a good camera.

- Rarely close the phone due to fear of folding the screen too much.

- original screen protector started peeling. Was supposed to get a free replacement with my extended warranty. Store owner refused to honor the free first replacement. I ended up getting a hydrogel pack on amazon and did it myself wirh no issues.

1 year thoughts-

- I started closing it more with no issues.

- rarely use the outer screen. Honestly kind of forgot about it.

- it's starting to overheat when connected to android auto and when charging. I often cannot access maps due to overheating. I have to remove the case and put it in front of the ac.

I just ordered an S26 and will be trading my flip in tomorrow! It was fun for a little, but I don't think the ability to fold it in half is worth the tradeoff of having poor camera quality and intermittent problems using maps due to overheating.

Just wanted to share my thoughts since I know lots of potential buyers check this sub.
