Are there any real benefits from the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable blade aperture?

A regular camera has a variable blade aperture which the photographer can use to control light as well as depth of field. However, achieving a reasonably shallow depth of field requires longer FL’s.

Given the small sensor size and the short distance between the lens and sensor in the iPhone, how much of a real impact does the blade aperture have?

I’ve read a few articles touch on this but didn’t find their take very credible. I want to ignore all the marketing claims and get a straight answer from photographers.

Visiting vs deciding to live there

It’s human nature to want more of what we like. If we visit Pattaya and like it, it’s natural to wonder how we can make it last forever by moving there.

The value of anything is based on how finite it is. Holiday locations have the glow up effect it does because it’s temporary. Once you decide to live there, the value of the place shifts for most people.

Doesn’t necessarily make living in Pattaya a bad choice, but many people overlook this reality.
