[ADDON] Read this if you plan on playing PTR: New Aura Container System
Right now PTR testing is up and there is a pretty big UI shake-up happening. Most unitframe addons are not fully prepared for it yet.
Blizzard added a new Aura Container System. In simple words: buffs and debuffs on unit frames, especially target frames, are no longer handled the old way internally. Addons use the old aura system will break as soon as you enter combat.
If you plan to play or test the Midnight PTR/Beta and want working unit frames / group frames, you can try:
MidnightSimpleUnitFrames (MSUF) (Unit+Group Frames)
Unhalted Unitframes (Unitframes)
MSUF already supports a lot of the new aura system features, including dispel highlight, aura borders, filtering, cooldown text coloring, and more. Keep in mind both of these versions of these popular Unitframe addons are on ptr in a beta phase!
This is mainly a heads-up for people wondering why their unitframe addon suddenly acts weird on PTR. It is not just “addon bugs”, Blizzard changed a lot under the hood. So if you want something that is already prepared for the new system, use MSUF or UUF.
