Indian recruiters

I've gotten to the point now where as soon as I hear the accent, I delete the voicemail, I don't even bother listening. It's always either an on-site position across the country, the wrong tech stack, or some other variety of not even close to a fit.

And even in the rare case it is a good fit, it never goes anywhere.

I hate that I have this bias now, because I know that there are probably some legit jobs in the mix that I'm going to miss out on, it's just become exhausting being at the end of "spray and pray"

"We’ve decided to move forward with other candidates"

Last week, I had a phone screen with a recruiter for a company and today I received the all too familiar "we’ve decided to move forward with other candidates whose experience more closely aligns with what the team needs right now"

What the actual F. I mean sure, there have been plenty of roles where I'm not a great fit for, so I can see it. But for this one, I met every single requirement as well as every "nice to have". I have 16 years experience, and they were looking for senior. I hit it off with the recruiter and I seemed to be a great culture fit for the team, very similar mindset for how I like to work. My salary requirements were right in line for what they were offering. It could not have been a better fit.

He also told me they are trying to fill multiple roles. So it's not even like there were multiple perfect matches for 1 golden position.

I hung up from the Teams call thinking "wow, that could not have gone any better, but I'm still fairly certain I won't get it".

I'm so tired of this...

For my mental wellbeing, I need to stop scrolling on Facebook. But it's the main communications app I use to talk to friends and family. Sucks they discontinued the messenger app.

Is there a good way these days to use FB messenger only without getting a feed?

Edit: I saw some other posts recommending FB Purity, and I've been playing around with those settings to lock things down, and have it set to default to my friends feed, which will help a ton rather than seeing rage bait at the top of my feed.
