Montréal Rats in a cage setlist
I was at the rats in a cage tour last night in Montreal and I think it’s insane that they dropped Stand inside your love from the setlist. I think it’s easily their best song and considering the spotlight they gave James got soloing and the sound quality it would have been perfect. I don’t understand why instead they played stuff like machina machina or sojourner which literally no one gives a shit about. Starting the second set with songs that weren’t from the classic era ruined the vibe since it was pretty much just earrape wall of sound for the first 20 mins after the break. They could have easily just played Luna or soma or rocket or perfect but they have Billy wanting to spend 15 mins playing shit like Edin and pentagrams to 0 crowd engagement. Overall for me, the show was great but had potential to be soo much better with a better setlist especially considering they played 3 hrs and had no opener. The Mellon collie set was fine since it was just that album but the rest should’ve been strictly greatest hits, people spent the money to see those songs. Even opening the whole concert with 1979 and bullet is crazy, why not save it for the end of set 1? And songs like fuck you/an ode to no one and jelly belly or bodies were just terrible to hear live, made me want to plug my ears and wait for disarm
