Rotating setlist between shows confirmed!
Billy on Instagram: "Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we've discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned and exactly on the terms I'd set: which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas.
With set 1 of The Rats In A Cage Tour exclusively featuring Mellon Collie songs in a highly theatrical setting, and set 2 drawing from the rest of our canon so that there's a decent amount of variance as to what songs we'll play from night to night: from our first in 'Gish' to our last in 'Aghori Mhori Mei'."
Jimmy on the drums (in studio with Butch)
I could watch this video all day long.

Tickets are on pre-sale right now for the Pumpkins show 10/13 in St. Paul, MN. Use the code:93xradio today and enjoy my interview with Billy that just transpired! Billy talks Mellon Collie at 30, his job as the interviewer instead of interviewee with The Magnificent Ones, NWA, and all the music in-between:
Unobtanium obtained. Thanks to a fellow Pumpkin’s fan, I now have the MCIS amp. A Mesa/Boogie Strategy 500
“The bitter Chalamets, so self absorbed. The bodily remains, such a bore.”
Love that lyric in Marquis.
Music Recommendations similar to Billy on Piano?
Currently enjoying Machina:AAE and always find the Billy/Piano tracks to be a highlight (Crying Tree, If There Is a God, Soot & Stars etc)
Don't really know where to start on finding similar piano music (instrumental or otherwise) that might capture a similarly melancholic tone?
Appreciate there's other tracks of this nature across the catalogue (Zowie, MCIS, Cotillions etc) but wondering if anyone who is more versed with piano composers might have any similar recommendations?
No pits on this tour darn
At least for the arenas near me, they aren’t doing a GA PIT, which I thought was odd. Plus I forgot just how expensive arena ticket prices are
Another old set. Smashing Pumpkins at The Gibson Ampitheater, Universal City, CA 10-14-2012
Figured I would post another older set since I have been spending some time going through my 2009-2015 photos.
I actually barely remember this one. From the Gibson Amphitheater which was at Universal Studios (which now is where the Harry Potter area is). I wasn't a huge fan of Oceania at the time (but the album now has grown on me) so at the time the set kind of dragged. They also had us shoot from REALLY far back. The wide angles give you an idea of where they had photogs shooting this one from. The lighting was also really bad for most of it with reds and blues. Towars the end there was strobes and such so it was just timing the shots. Most of these I never edited down cause back then cause photo shop didn't give you nearly as many options as you have now to color correct.
Setlist:
"Quasar"
"Panopticon"
"The Celestials"
"Violet Rays"
"My Love Is Winter"
"One Diamond, One Heart"
"Pinwheels"
"Oceania"
"Pale Horse"
"The Chimera"
"Glissandra"
"Inkless"
"Wildflower"
"Space Oddity" (David Bowie cover)
"X.Y.U."

"Zero"
"Cherub Rock"
"Ava Adore"
"Muzzle"
PSA - Tickets are on sale!!
Marketing for the Rats in a Cage tour said tickets are on sale at 10am local time, but an instagram post from SP claimed 9am. Just got my tickets for Columbus, was the shortest queue I've been in. Good luck out there 🤘
Smashing Pumpkins tribute band - UK musicians wanted
Currently it's just me (drummer); the band in this video fell through so I'm now searching for new members.
Looking for bandmates preferably in their 20s/30s who see this as a long-term thing, ie wanting to do this in 10 years time (hopefully Billy Corgan won't mind!), and who can look the part and sound the part in recreating the band's classic lineup as closely as possible.

Smashing Pumpkins - GIsh - Very first-est OG Caroline 1991
I got this copy of Gish a few years back, directly from Raymond Coffer. He was the band's manager at the time and is the first person listed in the record's "special thanks" notes. It was open but unplayed, brand-new mint inside and out. Until I got my hands on it! I never hesitate to spin it, man, that's what they're for.
So that's why I joked it's first-est. Gotta figure this was one of the first 5 or 6 they ever unpacked, maybe? Like does the provenance make you think this was an early delivery to the band, so this is actually a pre-release edition then...I'm just goofing off.
I'm both old enough now and cool enough back then that I actually heard Gish before Siamese Dream, lol. This *really* cool girl Kara had it on her Walkman and we listened together in wood shop class, then she taped it for me.
I don't really care what it is or what it's worth: it's my copy of Gish and it's got a cool backstory and that's it. Spin your records, folks!
New interview with Billy Corgan on DC101
Hey everyone! I just interviewed Billy Corgan about The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘The Rats In A Cage Tour’ and a ton of other stuff that’s going on.
Check it out here: https://dc101.iheart.com/featured/mike-jones/content/2026-05-20-billy-corgan-and-mike-jones-talk-about-the-smashing-pumpkins-tour-more/
Thanks!
Ticketmaster sucks ass
I was in queue and it made me reset my password. Major bullshit
So, a 60 year old man holds a funeral for his made up alter ego and then asks why his music isn’t taken seriously?
I’ve loved SP for almost twenty years, gone and seen them live, collected their records etc. But at this point this is just an embarrassment and strikes me as a pathetic and delusional attempt to stay relevant, while inadvertently dividing the fanbase further. Corgan is his own biggest fan, and this was at least tolerable when the music was on point. For me at least it hasn’t been that for a long time. And now holding a funeral for Zero, the made up character which in 95 started because he bought a clothing brand to wear the shirt exclusively? Nah, you lost me. Rant over.
The track contents on adore super deluxe are so wonderfully made
So many deleted scenes (i mean outtakes) that didn't make it out on the adore album . How i wish many of it made it on the album , will it make adore better? Heck yeah.
Adore is not my favorite pumpkins album (but I play it a lot when i'm in the mood) but it sure has a lot of interesting outtakes.
Got em!
Pleasantly surprised at the ticket price. I was anticipating $300+
