My MOVA V50 experience so far

I bought the Mova V50 from Amazon right as I was moving, so it sat unopened for a while before I got around to setting it up. By the time I did, I was outside the 30-day return window.

At first I couldn't get it to charge, but it turned out the base just wasn't powered on. I followed the quick start guide, but the print is microscopic and I missed the part about toggling the on/off switch on the back of the unit. It blends in and is easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Once I found that, the charging issue was solved.

The first clean seemed to go great. It picked up all the dust and dirt and did a solid job mopping. That was also the last time the robot has worked for me.

Now the robot itself will not turn on at all. The base is functioning fine. I've done a factory reset, unplugged it and let it sit, then plugged it back in and left it on the dock for 48 hours, and the robot is still dead. I've cleaned all the charging contacts and made sure it's seated securely in the base, but nothing has changed.

I've been working with support, sending photos and videos as requested, and they've determined it needs repair. When they told me this, I asked if they would replace the unit instead, since it was brand new and had only been used once. They completely ignored that question and just sent me all the instructions for packing it up and shipping it back, along with a return shipping label. Not exactly a great look. On top of that, the box is bulky and heavy, and I'm genuinely concerned it won't even fit in my car. Having UPS pick the package up from my home wasn't offered as an option either.

This is where my frustration comes in. This is a brand new unit that I got exactly one cleaning session out of, and I don't think repair is the proper solution here. A replacement is what should have been offered from the start. Support has been communicative throughout, but the actual resolution has been terrible.

To make matters worse, I paid over $700 for this thing, and I deeply regret the purchase. Before this I had a Roborock S4 that worked wonderfully since March 2020. I only "upgraded" because I wanted a mopping feature, and the Mova V50 seemed to have solid reviews. Unfortunately, it looks like I ended up with a lemon. And to top it off, I already donated my Roborock S4 to a coworker, so I don't even have that to fall back on now.

Okay, here's the deal with this nonsense. Maybe somebody here can shed some light and explain how I'm not totally getting screwed.

Pre-split I had 100 contracts with a $1.50 strike price set to expire on 5/15/26. They were set to expire unassigned, since this stock is a total dogsh*t nightmare I stupidly got into.

Post-split, I still have 100 contracts with a $1.50 strike price, it's just that each contract is now worth 5 shares instead of 100 shares. THE SCAM: Unfortunately, the strike price is now deeply in the money, so if it gets assigned, my unrealized losses will become VERY real indeed.

I am unable to roll into a better position, and if I choose to Buy to Close, Robinhood won't let me set a limit price of $0.02... it forces a $0.05 minimum limit. WTH?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. I emailed Robinhood about it, but that was only 20 minutes ago, so don't anticipate getting an answer anytime soon.

I guess my main fear is that it will get automatically assigned on the expiration date, or even worse, it will get exercised early because it's so deep in the money.

UPDATE: After having ClaudeAI, ChatGPT, and Grok argue about this for the past couple of hours, the end result is that my covered calls will not be automatically assigned. They are mathematically out of the money due to the underlying price calculation outlined in the OCC memo; UP1 = 0.05 (UP). This would not stop a confused individual from choosing to exercise their calls, but if they did so, they would still have to pay $1.50 per share x 100 (New multiplier is still 100), but would only receive 5 shares (New Deliverable is only 5). This means in the unlikely event my covered calls get assigned, I would actually make $15,000 (100 contracts x $1.50 strike x New Multiplier of 100).

ClaudeAI and Grok were really going at it, but ultimately, ClaudeAI admitted it was incorrect and that Grok actually had the right of it. Unfortunately, I couldn't run the final verdict by ChatGPT, because I ran out of queries until midnight.
