Hi all, Was wondering if anyone knows of any tracks or spots where rc cars(specifically nitro rc cars) are allowed to be used near the West Dublin Area.
I know there's one in St. Anne's Park, but Im looking for something local or close by.

And also what exactly are the rules/laws of using Nitro rcs in public parks, or in the housing estate. I can understand that they're loud and potentially dangerous, though Im not thinking of using a big rig, more like a 1/10 scale, and using brake fail safes.

Do we have to pay road tax if we use them on the road( wouldn't be surprised 😂😂 )

Appreciate any info
Hello all, after a "failed"( for now) revival of my old HPI trophy, I want to buy another Nitro rc car. Whats a good/ok price for a used Nitro rc, in which the seller says yes its running etc vs in one they say untested, hasnt been used in a while. I know theres a lot of models but there must be some models which are popular to go with, easy to maintain. with the rarity of spare parts( which is what im struggling with my current Nitro car) its hard to know exactly what im getting myself into and not put myself in a money pit.
Don't have anything against electric but its not the same for me and a lot of others.
So if anyone has any info or advice Ill really appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance
Yeah so I think i messed the piston rod/ piston head 🥲🥲🥲. Its not supposed to be like this right?
This is an update from my last two posts on this page of me trying to restore my engine.
Thank you to anyone that helped and for any further advice.
Thanks in advance for any help, advice.
Hello all, earlier this week I posted about my nitro car which im trying to restore, the engine mainly.
So this is an update. There was literally no budging at all, zero rotation, even after soaking it in all different things. So I tried the heat method, I torched it and tapped the end of the camshaft with a rubber mallet "very carefully". Well I tried to be careful as possible, and pushed it back in from the other end with another tool until the piston rod freed from the camshaft, I was then able to push the piston up after a little struggle( moving freely now). And then finally able to knock the camshaft off.
Now what im stuck at is the piston sleeve, how do I remove it safely, I can't really rotate the piston up ( no camshaft lol).
Should I heat the housing up again and try push the piston rod with a tool to get it to come out enough or is there another method I should be using. Also by the pictures can the engine still be saved. And yes I lost the starting pin in all the chaos. What i think is the issue are the bearings, they are literally disintegrating as you read this post.
Any help is appreciated,
I basically bought this nitro rc car used about 2 years ago. I had some luck in getting the engine started a few times, but it always had an issue of fully revving on start, maybe there was an air leak.
I never got around to doing anything to it, the car was sitting outside in the rain aswell unfortunately, it was covered but water got in. Now ive finally decided that I want to restore it as a fun project. I've dismantled the engine ( not sure what model it is, says HPI).
The engine won't turn at all, i don't want to force it free. Inside its rusty aswell.
So can it be saved and how should I clean it?
Thanks in advance
