I saw this earlier and got me wondering what uses in domestic homes could the be for 50gbps. This is in a lab but reasonably you could say in 10 years time this could be in a state that is ready for a rollout.

This isnt a no one needa that speed its more a what could it be used for. I can see in apartment blocks and flats it being useful. Single entry of 50gbps and then the property owner rolls out the ethernet to all flats but even then what kinds of acivities would use that.

Even todays 8k videos with many users would rqrely need even 1gbps. In a home apart from that there isnt much other demand.

Maybe the aim is actually to offer cheaper connection to mobile 6g masts and the rollout of many access locations.
