“Guys I fucked up and Im so upset” post. Let this be a lesson.

A couple days ago someone posted their experience taking spironolactone (a male with no intent of transitioning) because of hair greed and developing severe side effects (gyno and mental health issues) and then becoming defensive when their actions are pointed out as stupid.

The reason I post this is because I feel like people really need to consider consequences of self-medicating. If you do not understand the effects of a medication, don’t take it before educating yourself.
This goes for minoxidil. Finasteride. Dutasteride and especially for medication intended for hormone replacement therapy.
Please discuss the effects of medications with a proper physician or read some evidence based literature instead of some youtube videos.
If more people did this there would be more understanding of how these medications work and what they’re intended for.
*IMO i believe if people actually did this PFS would not exist because it’s impossible.
Nocebo effects would decrease significantly.
People wouldn’t be so scared of medication which have no permanent side effects earlier rather than later. Use of high dose oral min would better considered for it’s effects on your cardiovascular health. People posting pics after 1-2 months of treatment asking why they don’t see improvement yet or complaining that they’re shedding would dissapear.
Honestly this page would be a whole lot easier to navigate and people could actually focus on better helping those with more serious questions.

Hair greed and obsession over hair can push you to extreme limits just for some regrowth and the fear mongering keeps people from hoping on medications on time.
This ofcourse, is my my own opinion. But regardless I wanted to share this because I feel like it’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

How many grafts can I get out of my donor?

*no need to worry about the redness and uneven hairs. I buzzed my hair no guard with little care to the evenness. The redness has quickly subsided.

20’sM. Dut and min (hairloss is stablized and still making good progress)
Planning on doing a HT next month for the temple and hairline area which has thinned out diffusely rather than truly receded (yet, hopefully not tho).
Transplant is going to be to add density to my temples and reinforce my hairline.

Clinic I’m going with want to use 2800 grafts.
They said they might end up taking more during the procedure but that 2800 is the minimum they’ll transplant for the price I paid. Im cool with 2800 but don’t wanna use too much grafts incase I ever need another transplant. Does my donor allow me to safely get away with 2800 grafts and still have enough to spare for the future? If so, how many total grafts do you think my donor offers?
