Regretting my hair transplant I need advice

Regretting my hair transplant I need advice

I am having massive regrets after getting my first hair transplant. I got the procedure one month ago, and I am completely regretting it due to the design, fear of the end result, and what I have been seeing so far.

I have been going through a rough patch, and I think that pushed me into getting a transplant without doing enough research. It ended up not being the best procedure; they drew the hairline just two minutes before I went into the surgery room, and it was very stressful having to make so many decisions on the spot.

Regarding the end result of the design:

  1. They gave me a strong widow's peak and an unsymmetrical look that I am not a big fan of.

  2. There is not enough density. In my opinion, but the surgeons said it's fine.

  3. I found out they put double and triple grafts in the first few millimeters.

I wish I had chosen a very high hairline just to fill up the gaps and have something that looks and feels like I haven't even had a procedure. If I could go back in time, I would just live with what I had.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience and was able to correct it:

  1. Am I able to laser the widow's peak later to get a higher, more natural-looking hairline?

  2. Do I need another transplant to fix this?

Obviously, now that I am a month in, I have shed a lot. I've consulted two other surgeons since the procedure, and they told me, "It's not too bad," and that we will see the result in six months. However, I have a gut feeling that it will look super ugly. I regret it so much. One surgeon said that we can start extracting the double and triple grafts if I don't like them, or draw a new hairline and then remove everything underneath it. I think extracting from the forehead will give me horrible scars, as I'm very prone to scarring.

Has anyone fixed a fake-looking hairline? Has anyone stressed so much about a hair transplant and found out it would look good?

I also feel like the area they implanted is huge for the amount of grafts they used. They said they used 2,200, and they also scattered some in the back.

Has anyone lasered their widow's peak to make it look more normal? They put so many double and triple grafts in the widow's peak itself, I'm sure it will look so ugly.

12 month update - Dr Augusto Guerreiro / Clínica LHR

So I hit the 12 month mark and honestly I kept waiting for the moment where I’d stop being impressed and get used to it... but it still catches me off guard sometimes.

I know people say "it changed my life" and I always thought that sounded a bit dramatic, but I kinda get it now. Not because I suddenly became a different person or anything, but because I stopped thinking about my hair completely. That mental space being gone is weirdly freeing.

The craziest part for me is that I genuinely never thought I would have this much hair again. I was hoping for "better". I was hoping maybe I’d stop obsessing over photos, mirrors, bright lights, windy days etc. I never expected I’d be able to actually grow it out and wear it longer. Like… that wasn't even in my expectations lol.

I still remember before surgery spending hours on this subreddit zooming into other people’s hairlines trying to convince myself I wasn’t making a mistake. I was worried I’d end up looking "transplanted" or unnatural. Turns out I massively underestimated what a good result can look like.

I had a moment recently where I looked in the mirror after getting out of the shower and thought: "wait… this is actually my hair." Sounds stupid written out hahah but yeah.

Obviously everyone is different and results vary, not trying to convince anyone here. Just sharing because if you had told me 12 months ago I’d have this hair and be growing it longer, I honestly wouldn't have believed you.

Still kinda surreal tbh.

Freaking out right now

Is it overharvested?

I got 4150 graphs done which is way more then I was quoted. When I sent pictures I was quoted at 2000.

Before After - 10.000 grafts !

I was completely bald before my two procedures at HairNeva Hair Transplant Clinic with Dr. Go. Around 10,000 grafts in total, and the transformation is honestly incredible. My hair looks full and natural now. Very professional team and great care from start to finish.

How many Grafts?

Day 2 and Day 6 Pictures post HT

Unsure what to do

Hey everyone,

Which clinic for second HT?

need help deciding what to do in terms of second transplant. I had my first HT in August 2024. It’s healed and not been too bad, but I definitely need a second.

I haven’t taken fin since, took min for about 6 months but it didn’t seem to do much, possibly cause I wasn’t taking it with fin/dut.

Looking at taking 0.5mg dut (3x a week) while saving up for my second HT.

Current hair is long and I was hoping to not cut the long hair and only shave the donor area (no cut HT) has anyone had any experience of it? Or have I got to lose my current long hair?

If money isn’t too much of an issue, should you have transplant in London?

I jumped into booking a hair transplant in Turkey, with Serkan Aygin, and it’s scheduled for next month. I just thought I’d go with the best, and given he’s won a European award or something, and I’ve seen a couple YouTube influencers go and have theirs done, I decided to not overthink and went ahead and booked it.

However I’m getting real cold feet now seeing some horrible reviews online and here on Reddit.

I’m thinking of cancelling it. I’m seriously at odds with myself. Don’t know what to do.

Here’s the thing, I do have a bunch of savings and having to spend extra to do it in the UK won’t be THAT difficult. If money is there, “should” I do it here? I was thinking of Wimpole Clinic. Or should I save the extra 2-3k?

Closing In on 18 weeks since getting a transplant.

I started researching a transplant as far back as 2023. Fast forward to December of 25. I had enough and decided to go Dr Serkin in Turkey for a Feb 1 2026 transplant. My routine has slightly changed over time.
But starting day 1 I ve taken biotin and special shampoos and conditioners sold by Serkin. Once there was enough hair to hold the Minoxidle oil. I ve applied it topically. I ve added 1 mg of oral finasteride daily as well as dermarolling my temples every 4-5 days. I shaved my head at 6 weeks because my temples where showing a lot of uneven new growth. Frankly that’s still the case yet I vw come to accept it’s part of the journey and no longer care.

15.5 weeks

Am I doomed?

Going 3 months this July 5 and honestly I still don’t see much progress yet. I’ve been seeing a lot of people here getting really good results by the 3-month mark already.

1st photo is at 2 months and 16 days, and 2nd photo was taken during my 3rd week post-op. 3,800 grafts.
