Queer student considering Christ University (Bangalore) for BCom — genuine advice needed

Hi everyone,

I'm helping a student (still in school, ISC 12th) think through her college options, and she's seriously considering Christ University Bangalore for BCom. She's queer and coming from a fairly conservative family background, so campus culture matters a lot to her decision, not just academics/placements.

A few honest questions for anyone who's studied there or knows the campus well:

  1. What's the general vibe for LGBTQ+ students on campus — is it something people are generally open about, or does everyone stay pretty discreet?

  2. Is dating (same-gender specifically) something students do openly, or is it more "don't ask don't tell"? Any risk of actually being penalized/flagged by the university if found out?

  3. How strictly is the dress code (no piercings, no hair dye, etc.) actually enforced day-to-day vs. what's written on paper?

Not looking to be discouraged from applying — just want a realistic picture before committing, since she's coming from a background where this college would already be a big personal leap. Any honest input, good or bad, is genuinely appreciated. Happy to also hear from people who left or transferred out, if that experience is relevant
