House Calls? Country Doctor or Country Crock?
Does anyone do house calls? Or is it a relic of a bygone era? Between the insurance and the schedule, is it even possible?

The southern Appalachian guns that use bloomery iron furniture and little of it. Simple working guns they were made by gunsmiths that also shoed horses and acted as cooper. They weren’t Lancaster Rifles, they didn’t have inlay or engraving, they were the simple guns that put food on the table. Who else knows these works of functional folk art? And who else loves them?
Edit: if you think I’m AI, I’m not, just got a touch of the ‘tism for black powder guns.
Looking to get a Kibler Appalachian Barn Gun, It’ll be a dear price but I think if it’s the right caliber it’ll be worth it. I want a .50 smooth bore, but I don’t know if that’s a good idea for me. I want to use it to take about any game in East Tennessee, that’s why the Barn Gun is my choice. If I could afford a good iron furniture Fowler I’d pick that too but I want something that would fit my home place. What do y’all think? Is .50 smooth bore a good idea or should I work a few more shifts and go for a larger bore?
I’m looking to get a flintlock smoothbore from the Rifle Shoppe, I’m curious which one y’all would recommend, it’s for some fun shooting and hunting, but also something that can be used at F&I reenactments near me. What is a good militia/longhunter smoothbore to use. For hunting I plan on whitetail, small game, and the occasional attempt at turkey. Thank you in advance!
