Audi Q7 2021/2022 Reliability?
I am interested in my first 7 seater SUV and was pretty set on getting a Volvo XC90 T8 (455 BHP, Hybrid Petrol). They are great cars but have a very common failure point on their ERAD (electric motor) systems, with repair bills of £8,000+ that are frequently not covered under warranty. They have other common issues too but that are not as expensive, like high voltage coolant heaters failing (£3,000) and sun roof leaks (which can total the car). If the hybrid battery fails and requires a module replacement, it could be £2000 per module (6 in total), but again this is less common.
The big put off for me is the ERAD and sun roof leaks, especially since I plan to keep the car for a good 8 years+. I may just end up going with the Volvo but would be nice to know if there is a more reliable alternative in Audi.
I know little about the Q7's, I know the first gen had a lot of reliability issues but are these newer ones any better compared to the XC90? Can anyone let me know common issues? When I last had an A4 I recall there were a lot of gearbox issues with VAG group.
