Is it worth GPU swapping this Aegis PC to flip, or just sell as-is?
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide the best way to flip a prebuilt I currently have and wanted some experienced opinions before I spend money on it.
MSI Aegis R
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700F
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB
Motherboard: MSI OEM B760 (LGA1700)
RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 (2×8GB)
Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
PSU: 650W 80+ Gold
Cooling: MSI tower air cooler
Case: MSI Aegis R chassis
Networking: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, 2.5Gb Ethernet
OS: Windows 11 Home
💡 My idea
I found an ASUS RTX 4070 Super Dual for $450 locally.
My plan would be:
Buy the 4070 Super
Install it into this PC
Sell the RTX 4060 separately
Sell the upgraded PC as a 4070 Super system
❓ My question
From a flipping perspective:
👉 Is this actually worth doing for profit?
or
👉 Am I better off just selling the PC as-is with the 4060?
I’m trying to figure out:
If the GPU swap actually increases total resale value enough after fees/time
Or if I’m just tying up cash for little/no gain
📊 My rough thinking (feel free to correct me)
4070 Super upgrade cost: $450
RTX 4060 resale: ~$200–$250
Expected PC value increase: unsure (maybe +$150–$300?)
🙏 Would appreciate feedback on:
Whether 4070 Super builds actually sell fast in today’s market
If buyers even care about GPU upgrades in prebuilts
Whether flipping GPU separately is better ROI
Or if I should just list the system as-is and move on
Thanks in advance — trying to avoid wasting time/money on a flip that looks better on paper than in reality.
