Be careful for robbery - UPS Stores being targeted by robbery scam

A few stores in our network have been robbed. Idk how they fell for it but the con was a “undercover police detective” called the stores. Told the employee on shift late Friday night to close the store , send all employees home, they have been working a case and police marked bills have come through that specific ups store. That they are coming over to the store , need to look through all the money , collect the marked bills , and take them. The employee did as told , let them in , they took all the money in the place , AND 1 employee even gave his own bank info which they wiped over $2,500 from. These robbers got another store too on the same day!! 2 STORES SAME NIGHT. Told the employee we’ll bring the money back we’re taking it to police station to run all the bills. Employee waited till 11:30pm at the store , saw his banked drained then started to realize it was a robbery con. Went to the police station and found out what he should have known hours ago, that yes it was a robbery con

Idk how anyone can fall for this , even if the real cops called and asked to come check out money this I’d 1 refuse and 2 call my owner, let alone go along with it and invite them to come, but it can happen , as we’ve heard it’s happened many times before.

We’ve heard a other stores received same targeted phone calls

I know most won’t fall for it , but it seems they pray on the young , innocent and vulnerable teen staff.

So you guys can maybe warn your staff , as dumb as it may sound how to respond to this situation. Young workers who haven’t been in many situations like this , who aren’t familiar how the real legal process works, might fall for it as others have.
