1/48 Magic Factory, A-4M Skyhawk, VMA-131 "Diamondbacks" / Decal Update
Final product of the A-4 Skyhawk I asked about a few days ago.
The kit, at least for the Diamondbacks scheme, doesn't come with decals made for when you have the engine bay doors, nose or airbrakes open. Using the advice given to me by some friendly members of the subreddit, here is my conclusion:
The nose and engine bay doors need to be held in place, I used some bluetac to do so. The airbrakes can be friction fit however. Once the decals have set and dried, use a new hobby blade (I use a #11 exacto) to cut along the seams and then use the blade to pop the doors out.
Also, and this may be user error, if you're having difficulty putting the intakes on, try sanding down the tops and bottoms of the interior. I did that and it went from barely fitting to sitting (mostly) flush.
