Where are the leg press videos?

Hello fellow ego lifters,

Lately it seems like the most popular ego lift on this board has been the zercher deadlift. Indeed, zercher variations are an instant classic in the ego lifting world, and very effective at building the spine.

Unfortunately it's been quite some time since I've seen any videos of the quintessential ego lift, the leg press. Let's break down a few of the ego benefits of this beloved exercise:

  • Can be loaded extremely heavily
  • ROM optional
  • Possible to use momentum to bounce the weights off the machinery in some cases
  • The opportunity to use enormous amounts of assistive equipment (knee wraps, reverse bands, etc)
  • Can be found in almost every commercial gym

What better way to demonstrate your strength and superiority than to lift over 1000 pounds+ for repetitions? "I lift a half a ton with my legs"

For would be master ego lifters, don't forget this beautiful exercise. Don't leave gains on the table. Lets see some more leg press videos!

I'll never understand the commentary that "Chuck was right about Jimmy"

Chuck was a narcissist who intellectualized his feelings about Jimmy. He was also, as the show demonstrated, often entirely wrong about Jimmy. One example is when he was insisting to Howard that Jimmy would come for the tape recording in the dead of night, and would never risk coming in the day time. Of course Jimmy then immediately shows up. Many such cases throughout the show.

I'm always scratching my head at the concept that "Chuck was right about Jimmy". Chuck's tone of voice when he talks about Jimmy very often also takes on a childish quality which speaks to where it truly comes from.

The show also shows many times that Jimmy listens to and internalizes the things that Chuck says about him, which are often more about Chuck's feelings/ego than reality. One such example is that he repeats the "you don't matter that much to them" line to Kristy Esposito. He believed that Chuck said that in earnest. Think of how much that must have hurt him. He really did believe Chuck was the smartest guy and that, in my eyes, was unquestionably a part of his devolution to Saul. Jimmy believed that Chuck had him pegged, and truly didn't understand that Chuck could be wrong about him. He was, unfortunately, entirely wrong about Chuck.

Jimmy idolized Chuck. When Jimmy was peeling back the tape on his office wall he did precisely as Chuck had instructed him to do. Then, when he realized and clearly was thinking of Chuck in the process, tears the tape away, causing the paint job to get damaged. This was a direct metaphor for the effect Chuck had on Jimmy. If their relationship wasn't damaged, and Chuck had accepted him, he would have done precisely as Chuck instructed. But Chuck never would/could, because of his ego. Nothing Jimmy could do would ever change Chuck's mind about who he was.

The internalized object that was Jimmy in Chuck's mind was always evil to contrast Chuck's mask of virtue. The reality was, of course, that Chuck and Jimmy really weren't that different. Chuck just justified his con jobs as virtuous, using the law as a cudgel to commit the crime of destroying his brother's career because he didn't want to see his rise and needed to defend his fragile ego. Jimmy used the law as a cudgel to destroy his brother by getting his malpractice insurance canceled. Jimmy, in the end, recognized that as a crime, even if it didn't break the law, something that Chuck never would have been able to do. He'd rather kill himself than admit it. In the end, Jimmy was far more honest than Chuck.
