14.3.3

Updated last night hw4 juniper model y and drove it this morning. Amazing changes.
- moved into lanes in readiness to turn a lot earlier. Use to be 200m max now it is as much as 1.5km
- much more assertive on hurry mode (Only used it on hurry mode)
- much quicker off the lights and got to speed much quicker
- able to spot road blocks much earlier and made the decision to reroute much quicker before it even got to the road block
- more assertive on roundabouts and turning. On v13 it would sometimes make small corrections while in the middle of the turn.
- it stays between 4-5km/hr higher than speed limit. Max speed limit I encountered on my drive was 80km/hr and it stayed between 3-5km/hr above 80km/hr
- parked in driveway albeit the wrong one because we’re in a duplex. Was smooth going into driveway no hesitation.

Overall much more human like on hurry mode even the wife was impressed and will use it more now.

FSD

So I’ve had a model y with fsd for 6 months now and apart from the usual known issue posted on here, here are my two biggest observations

- they secretly update fsd without telling us or maybe they do so to a select few. I’ve always disengage fsd if I spot an issue and put in a verbal report too. Yesterday 2 things happen 1) they updated the map (even tho no official update) so now the car would right turn into a street (previously it sees it as no right turn for some reason) and 2) it parked in my driveway for the first time!

- when fsd has to avoid something (pothole or tree or something imaginary) causing it to go over (slightly) to the other side it will think the other side (opposite side of the road) is now the correct place to be. I strongly believe there is a bug in the code where when something like this happens it switches to left hand drive. This would happen under all types of scenario (avoiding a tree branch on a rural road to pothole in suburban driving) It happens every time and is so stubborn it will not budge from that lane despite a car being there it firmly believes it is right and will just stop there. Yes I’ve also been in situation where another car came into my lane and because there is no way for fsd to go it just brakes and stops so I believe that’s normal behaviour for fsd.

not being in the correct lane earlier is my biggest peeve.

Everything else is very minor or occurs very sporadically. Enough to remind you to not be complacent. It’s so good there are many many drives where I’m too busy talking to someone in the car I forget who is driving. Yes am aware that is bad and I am ultimately responsible blah blah… am just saying how good it is.

What do you guys think about the left hand drive comment?
