Subject: Urgent Complaint: Request for Investigation into T&P Cell Irregularities
Dear Management, Director Sir, HODs, and fellow 4th-Year Students,
I am writing this email on behalf of many hardworking students who are deeply disappointed with how the placement drives are being handled this year. Placements are the most crucial part of our engineering journey, but recent events have made us question if the process is fair for everyone or just beneficial for a selected few close to the T&P cell.
I am listing some major, verifiable incidents below in simple words, so the authorities can understand our frustration and investigate:
Bypassing Criteria for Bloomberg (The "Special Permission")
When Bloomberg visited, they had strict shortlisting criteria, and around 300 students were allowed to sit. Many deserving students who missed the cutoff by a very small margin were strictly not allowed to sit. However, the PICT-ACM Chairperson, Bhavya Jain, who did not meet the criteria, was somehow allowed to participate. Not only was he allowed to give the test, but he also got selected for the interviews. When students asked the T&P cell how this was possible, we were told he had a "special written permission" from a higher authority.
If there is a special scheme that allows bypassing company criteria, how can other students apply for it? It feels very unfair that rules apply strictly to normal students but not to T&P insiders or club chairpersons.
- Losing Good Companies due to Ignored Emails
A top-tier global investment bank/financial company mailed the T&P cell expressing interest in hiring from our college. We heard that the T&P cell did not even respond to their mail, and the company is now not coming. We are struggling in this job market, and losing such opportunities because of a delayed or no response is completely unacceptable.
- No Action on Proven Cheating
During the Bloomberg test, a female student was caught red-handed using her phone to click pictures of the test questions. The T&P cell was informed, but absolutely zero action was taken against her. She was also caught cheating in a major bank's test a few months ago, and because no action was taken then, she is now getting a PPO from them. Is the T&P cell actively protecting certain students?
- The ProcDNA Separate Room
During the ProcDNA drive, several students closely associated with the T&P cell were made to sit in a separate room. There are strong rumors and witness accounts that phones were used freely there, and almost all of them got shortlisted.
- The Ardemas 10-Minute Checking Miracle
Ardemas recently conducted a pen-and-paper test for the students. Shockingly, the results were announced within barely 10 minutes. How is it humanly possible to fairly check and evaluate pen-and-paper tests of so many students in just 10 minutes? Unsurprisingly, most of the T&P coordinators and their close friends were the ones who got shortlisted and sat for the Ardemas interviews. If they studied really hard, good for them, but this 10-minute evaluation miracle needs a logical explanation.
We are not writing this out of jealousy; we are writing this out of fear for our careers. We work hard for four years only to see opportunities handed out unfairly. We request the Director, Deans, and Management to please take this seriously and conduct a fair, transparent investigation into the T&P cell's recent activities. We just want a fair chance.
Regards,
A Concerned 4th-Year Student
Note: Please do not reply to this email, as this is a temporary and unmonitored email address. Any further communication, updates, or clarifications from the college or T&P cell regarding these issues should be done officially through the respective college or T&P groups so that all students are kept informed.
