A Little Game: Which One Is the Brand-New ASUS Z890-H? Check the Seals and Take Your Guess.

Hello everyone,

I purchased two ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-H motherboards from an egg seller.

One is an open-box unit, and the other is brand-new.

And ASUS and the egg seller have somehow managed to send me two rather different versions of the same packaging.

So, which one is supposed to be normal?

Is the one with the factory seal the new one, or is the one without the seal the new one?

Here’s a hint:

The open-box unit has the black ASUS seal.

I’ve attached two photos. Take a guess!

ASUS has apparently been having a rough time lately and even had to raise motherboard prices. Now I’m starting to wonder if the factory seals have become a luxury item too.

Newegg Intel Gamer Days promotion appeared shortly after my purchase — has anyone had a similar experience?

I got back in touch with Newegg, and this time we were able to work things out in a way that worked well for both sides. The issue has been resolved, so there’s no need for me to pursue this any further.

I’ve also made a few adjustments to the original post after the resolution, mainly to remove some unnecessary details for privacy and other concerns.

Looking back, I think my friend’s recommendation was the right one after all. I appreciate Newegg taking the time to work with me and help bring this matter to a good resolution.

And thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments and advice. I really appreciate it.
