I went to the year round rink you guys suggested. It was $6.50 for 12:00 to 3:00. I got there at 1:30 but had to go 2 blocks to hockey locker and back to sharpen my skates cause their sharpener was down but I had a blast. Luckily it was only 2 blocks I uber’d. I’m gonna try to spend a little more time on the ice and get comfortable before I decide what to do next. Are there any YouTube channels I should watch? Edit: HELP WITH LACING??!!?!? LACING IS EITHER TOO LOOSE OR ITS TOO TIGHT NO IN BETWEEN!
I’m 27yo and I roller skate. Picked up some hockey skates to convert into to quads and took em out for a spin a few times before for tearing them apart. Safe to say I fell in love with the sport. This was February 2026 right before the Winter Olympics so that made it even worse. ilia malinin, alysa liu and usa vs Canada hockey was all that was on my timeline. I want to get better but don’t know what steps to take exactly. I’d like to get into ice dance and was thinking about getting private lessons or taking classes but not sure what level I should sign up as. ps. In the video my skates were dull; I can do a toe loop but it’s not majestic.
I want to take a trip to skate where should I go? Vegas was fun.
