Photo of the Month: October 2026

Please welcome Sulky, my younger rescue Sulcata. I believe he’s about 2-3 years old, but not sure on that. Not even sure of gender yet to be honest.

Was found in Arizona, and surrendered to our favorite local pet store when his owners realized the commitment needed for him.

The store asked me to adopt him as they know I’m very particular about getting conditions right for my animals. Looks to have some slight pyramiding. Hopefully I can improve his health with proper care over time.

Sulky will be our first months photo banner and permanent icon image.

Please post your favorite photo of your Sulcata below. Most upvoted photo will win a banner spot next month! I may message the winner to get a higher resolution photo.

Reviving r/Sulcata.

Hello all.

r/Sulcata is under new management. I’d like to introduce myself and ask for your help.

I’ve been an active Reddit user for a couple years now, and was an admin for a fairly large car group on Facebook years ago.

I rescue animals of all types. Parrots, turtles, tortoises, cats, dogs, snakes, fish, even an axolotl. I could probably charge admission to the zoo I call my house.

I’d like to help this group grow and become a better resource for owners and people considering Sulcatas as pets. I will be updating the page as I go, including formal rules and a better description. I plan to have some basic care guides for people that are new to Sulcatas. I would also like to start a monthly photo contest. Post your best photo of your Sulcata, and vote. Winner will be featured as the face of r/Sulcata for that month.

Please bear with me as I learn the new tools available to me and work to make this community more engaging and interesting.

If you are interested in joining the mod team, or have suggestions on content and improvements, feel free to message me directly or respond to this post.

2014 with significant shake in rear end.

Just bought a 2014 with 5.7 and the 3.92 rear end off a friend, in good shape mechanically with a bit of rust. 178k on it.

Vehicle has a significant shake in the rear end from 60-80mph. Clearly a rotating mass off balance issue.

Asked them about it and was told the dealership said don’t worry about it. Not worth fixing and a common issue with these trucks.

My first step will obviously be new tires, but I’ve checked and there don’t appear to be any missing wheel weights. Brakes are less than 20k miles on them and don’t appear to be warped. Suspension feels pretty tight with no major rattles or clunks, though it could use an alignment.

Could driveshaft need balancing or some other drivetrain issue? What else could I look at? I’m hesitant to drive over 60 right now, which is problematic since this is being used for some distance travel.
