My husband and I (mid-30s, athletic) will be staying at The Bolder in mid-July. My original plan was to drive to the basecamp and do the Preikestolen hike early AM, but recently I found out there is a trailhead right at The Bolder for Lysefjord Panorama Trail.

With Preikestolen being very busy in the summer, would Lysefjord be a better option? Most likely we would not do the full trail and turn around near Fantapytten. Would we feel like we missed out not doing Preikestolen? Would weather be a deciding factor (great weather- Lysefjord, not as great, Preikestolen)?

We like challenging hikes and excellent views. Any advice is much appreciated!
