No seat Position 4 at the tables, this number is considered very bad luck

No seat Position 4 at the tables, this number is considered very bad luck

There's a saying in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean, the pronunciation of the word for the number "4" sounds nearly equal to the word for "death".

Due to this negative association, sitting at a seat marked with a "4" is viewed as an invitation for bad luck or financial loss at the table.

Squeezing the cards, it's very stressful

To those that play this game at a land based casino in person, what are your thoughts on this? Would you rather just let the dealer reveal the cards on P/B instead?

I've seen some Asian aunties and uncles take their sweet old time squeezing to get that 3 card Panda or Dragon. Only then, it ends up a tie or a losing hand.

I recall one Auntie getting a Panda on Player Side and celebrating too early. The Banker 3-8 special came out totaling Nine, which ended up killing her 10K wager bet. She couldn't believe it and her jaw dropped. The cards were shredded within her hands and she yelled out "Gwai lou" in Chinese to the dealer.

To people that assume Parkwest card rooms are rigged

I once placed a 1K Bet on Banker, the Player Side was a natural 9 already. I placed my bet last min here on Banker the dealer didn't see my action.

He calls over security to review the footage to confirm if my bet was placed on time. About 4-5 mins passed, the casino security confirms that my bet was placed too late. The dealer went ahead and gave me my chips back.

Had they been dishonest about it, I would've lost 1K that day. This was at Parkwest Lotus Casino btw.
