Embarrassed as buns

I bought a bunch of the new NBC stuff for my aunt because she's a huge collector and loves anything NBC (both candles, a cream one of the big tote things, a smaller bag, the zero thing and a sani), but like... With the way this launch has gone and just the general vibe of this collection I don't know why but I felt so so embarrassed to be buying it??

Couldn't even use my gratis cuz my managers haven't let us yet, or at least just didn't tell me or something lol. I don't work for the next three days so I'm a little worried I won't even get any for myself when I come back, if they let me.

I buy stuff from our new collections for my family all the time but I don't know why just buying some candles and bags made me feel so scummy. Maybe cuz we got so little?? I feel like we barely had anything, the little display looked so sad and I felt so awkward taking the scraps

May god smite the person who created this soap sale

Okay so I'm not into bbw products in the slightest so I never know about any kind of promotions or whatever until I clock in, usually it's not bad but today girl don't get me started.

Our store had 116 bopis orders when we opened, almost all of which had over 10 soaps each. I couldn't help as I was the sole cashier and we were busy (line from the register through room 2) like all day, and I could tell my coworkers were pissy with me not trying to help them when I got like three minutes to breathe once the lines calmed down. Girl I'm sorry give me a nanosecond to breathe did you see the 286 soaps that kathleen just purchased. Not to say they didn't need the help or that I didn't do my best because again we had triple digit bopis for like an hour lmao

We had like no understock. Everytime I filled the soap wall back up to help bopis people / to just not make it look ransacked within minutes it would be back to square one. So many bopis that it took like two carts by the register + the ones in the back to hold them all. Girl I think we ran out entirely of whipped honey and vanilla.

I love my job its beyond easy but my god this was the busiest day I have ever worked it was busier than sas but hey at least my shift went by fast lol

Like 80% of our soaps smell like absolute buns too so idk what people were doing buying $200 worth/lh

Genuine non hateful question

So Ive been working at bbw for about 2 months now. I've never really shopped here before I applied (I'm a 19 year old guy so never felt too crazy inclined to go lmao) and have never really been CRAZY into the stuff we sell in general. Like I ofc have soap girl I don't stank but Im not sniffing every scent to find my favorite fragrance, whichevers cheapest lol

Since I started this job though I've been buying a bit and I've got what I think is a decently good haul of stuff that can actually be used reasonably. A lotion, a hand cream, 2 body washes, a shampoo, buncha sanis, and a mist (all champagne toast and the new tangerine stuff they put out). I think that's a reasonable amount of stuff for one person to have

My question is, in the nicest way possible with genuine curiosity, WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE BUYING SO MUCH OF THIS STUFF??? AT ONE TIME??? I would have posted this in the normal sub but I'm even more confused when it's employees for some reason because like... Me personally after checking out people buying 3 baskets worth of creams and mists and stuff I feel bad for owning as much as I do in fear of it not getting used and I don't even have too much.

I understand layering/mixing scents you like, wanting variety, and just stocking up when there's a sale or something. But people who are constantly trying to buy every new thing this place puts out, especially again when you work there and see so much overconsumption already, are confusing to me. Like you do not need 70 fragrance mists and 70 creams and 70 candles. Even with a discount there's no way in hell you're going to be able to use that all up in a reasonable time. Use what you have already instead of stocking up on new overpriced nasty woodsy fall stuff.

Sorry if any of this came off as rude or insensitive (except that last thing Abt the new stuff I just don't like any warm/musky/woodsy scents lol)!! I genuinely just want to hear a reason for why someone who works at the company who sees people buying stupid wasteful crazy amounts of stuff would want to collect every single thing we put out, yk?? Like am I out of touch am I just not this stuffs target demographic I'm gay I thought I was part of the market/J/J

Sick at work sigh

So I got a bit sick today at work (puked oops) and had to leave an hour or so early. This is the second time this has happened in a month and I'm so scared my manager lady or whatever she is idk if she's my manager lol doesn't believe me because of it + I've been feeling awful for about two weeks now and I keep needing to take breaks and everything. Whenever I tell her about it, too, I just know it sounds like I'm lying cuz I'm horrible at socializing and like nothing I say sounds natural ??

Idk this is kinda dumb lol I just feel super super guilty for leaving early

First super rude customer

Back with Another first for me yay love life

I clocked in at 10am today, put my apron on and all that, and the VERY first person I was ringing out today was a lady who came with a very clear passive aggressive attitude talking super fast and super loudly about how we had messed up her online order and how she'd like an exchange to get the thing she actually ordered

Yes ma'am valid crashout I gotchu no need to be coming in so hot but I gotchu

For context, im still relatively new, and am HORRIBLE at dealing with returns, especially online ones, but both my manager and my coworker were busy dealing with shipment so I couldn't bother them for a bit. I told her I'd need some kind of receipt or id because Im used to returns being in person and I just spoke out of habit, and she starts screaming about how "ITS AN ONLINE ORDER I DONT HAVE A RECEIPT JUST GIVE ME AN EXCHANGE FOR WHAT I ORDERED."

I apologize and tell her I can take her id instead

She starts huffing and puffing and moaning and groaning again and asks why I didn't just say that, and like slams her bag on the counter and starts pulling it out

I inform her that I did say that (I'm not good under pressure so I probably came off a bit mean/passive aggressive so I apologize for that ma'am if you see this somehow someway lmao)

She starts getting on me about how I "shouldn't fight with the customers", "am very unpleasant", and asks if she can handle it with someone else. Thankfully my coworker walked out like RIGHT then and I have her go to them I felt so bad and almost like crying because I was trying to keep my cool but she was just mean out the gate

I'm a bit worried my manager doesn't like me much either cuz Everytime I ask her anything she walks me through it like I'm stupid and is always subtly telling me I'm doing things wrong, so I didn't tell her and couldn't take a minute to compose myself and ended up shedding a few tears like a bozo but that's okay because by the time it happened there was like no one in the store

Mb for the yap sesh oops

First SAS ever today

First SAS today woooooooooooooooo

I did ask my manager about it and stuff finally lol because I knew I'd be on the register all day, but jesus. I clocked in at 3pm, three people already on the register, and 3 lines halfway out through the store.

I had to explain that some stuff just wasn't on sale like 50 times, but yk what that's on us it really is confusing. Like why is some soap just randomly not on sale?? It's so dumb, some super sweet lady was buying a bunch for her salon and she had to replace like 8 of her soaps cuz they didn't fit the deal I felt so bad she was so sweet about it!!!!!!

My feet hurt so sosooooo bad but yk what at least I barely had to leave the register, it's my favorite thing to do. I kind of prefer SAS to the regular days so far, actually gave me stuff to do even if it got kind of ridiculous. 99% of people were SO sweet and understanding when it came to returns and BOPIS and all the other hiccups, I only had like 2 bad customers out of the billion checked out today and even then they were just reasonably confused about the soap discount thing

And I got 2 wallflowers!!!!! They smell so good!!!!!!!! One wasn't on sale I don't think but I've been wanting it since I started working here so I'll take it lol idc

This is really a nothing burger of a post lol I like talking

What is SAS I'm stupid

Hihi I'm very new to bath and body works and I just did my first (and hopefully last jesus christ) floor set and two of my coworkers were talking about SAS and I know I could just Google it or ask my managers but I feel silly doing that..... I've already asked so many silly questions I don't want them to think I'm like,, incompetent lol.

This is my very first job too so if it's super obvious don't bully me I'm trying my best

EDIT: I did ask my manager and she was really sweet about it!!!!!!! ty for all ur answers too, I asked her about a billion questions today lol

That wallflower sale...

Oh my god Im new to bbw (two weeks in, 5th day on the clock today) and the last day I worked was one of those $3.50 wallflower sales for rewards members...

I've been the sole person on the register / BOPIS for the past 3-4 shifts of mine (I think they've been meaning to get me on the floor finally but have been forgetting or something lol idc tho I love the register) and wallflowers at the absolute bane of my existence because of how small the barcode is and how at least in my store we're required to wrap them if it's more than 3 which takes SO long because the paper is so big and loud and crinkly and yadda yadda yadda

I checked out at least 200. It was horrible. Worst thing ever. Took like double the time I usually do checking out because people would come up to me with giant baskets full of like 30 wallflowers and maybe one soap or something if I was lucky it was so annoying lol

Not serious just needed to get that off my chest and I'm a bit worried if I were to say something to one of my coworkers they'd think I'm complaining about easy work since I'm the youngest one there and it's my first job so oops
