[MTGO] Transitioning from Paper to Online – Is Gruul Monsters struggling in the current meta?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been playing Pauper for a while at my local LGS and recently decided to jump onto MTGO to get more reps in. In paper tournaments, I usually do quite well with my Gruul Monsters deck, but after a few days on MTGO, I’m finding the experience quite different.

I’ve been finishing my leagues with 2-3 results, which is a bit frustrating. It feels like the online meta is much more punishing or just fundamentally different from what I’m used to. I’ve been running into a lot of Monster Tron and Gruul Ponza, which feel like very uphill battles for my specific list.

Also i want to point out that i didn't meet a single madness or rally in the 4 leagues i played (matchups that my list is ready for).

I have a couple of questions for the veterans here:

  1. Meta Shift: Is the MTGO meta currently shifted towards these bigger/faster archetypes compared to paper play?
  2. Bad Luck vs. Deck Choice: Have I just had a string of bad luck with matchups in my first few leagues, or is Gruul Monsters currently in a tough spot online?
  3. Recommendations: If Gruul Monsters isn’t the best choice for the current online leagues, what would you suggest for someone who enjoys this playstyle but wants to be more competitive in the current MTGO landscape?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or any tips on how to adjust my sideboard/strategy for the online grind. Thanks!

Looking for a Japan-to-Italy Proxy for a bulk order of small items (No per-item fees)

Hi! I’m planning to buy a variety of small goods from mercari (mostly tcg cards in the 300-1000 JPY range).

Since I'll be buying quite a few pieces, I can’t use standard proxy services that charge 200-500 JPY per link/item. I’m looking for somebody who can help me consolidate everything and ship it to Italy with a more reasonable commission (either a percentage of the total or a flat service fee for the whole box).
Also keep in mind that i plan to order frequently from japan so the job could take some effort but if everything goes well i'll keep working with you ;)
Please comment below or DM me if you can help! Thank you!
