Advice for a New MT

Hey everyone,

I recently graduated college and just accepted a Management Trainee position with Enterprise. Before this, I spent the last 6 years working in the tile setting/construction industry as a laborer, so this is going to be a pretty big transition for me into the corporate world/customer service/sales environment.

I’ve been reading a lot online and I know the role is very performance and sales driven, which honestly makes me a little nervous since I don’t come from a sales background.

A few things I’m curious about: • What are the most common reasons people get fired or let go from the MT program? • If your sales numbers or sales skills aren’t great at first, can that realistically get you terminated? • How much pressure is there around metrics and sales? • What separates the people who succeed from the people who struggle? • Any advice for someone coming from a completely different industry trying to perform well early on?

I’m definitely willing to work hard and learn. I just want to know what to realistically expect and how I can set myself up for success.

Appreciate any advice.
