Has anyone taken the NextGen Software Engineering Assessment from Salesforce on HackerRank?

This is for Member Technical Staff ~3 years of experience.

It's two questions in 90 minutes, about 20 minutes suggested for Question 1 and 55 for Question 2, with a 15-minute buffer. Question 2 includes an AI Assistant that explains concepts, helps with error messages, and suggests syntax, but doesn't write the solution. Interactions are visible to the evaluator.

Would appreciate your input on:

• Can i use claude / other AI tools?
• What the problems were like and how they compared to LeetCode medium/hard
• Whether the time limit was enough
• How useful the AI Assistant was, and whether using it affected your evaluation
• How long the wait was and what the next rounds looked like

Any advice is welcome.

I need a water purifier with good purification, low maintenance, good customer support, and other necessary aspects for a purifier. Kindly suggest me one. I'm a software engineer with 3.5 years of experience at Zoho, currently planning to make the switch to Amazon. Before I start applying, I want to be strategic about which location and org to target.

A bit about my background:

• ~3.5 YOE at Zoho

• Based in Chennai

My questions:

1. Which city should I apply to? Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad — what are the trade-offs in terms of team quality, work culture, and interview difficulty?

2. Which orgs/teams at Amazon are worth targeting for someone coming from a product-heavy background like Zoho? Are there orgs that value Zoho experience more than others?

3. Does applying to Chennai give me any advantage since I'm from here and Zoho is Chennai-based? Or is it largely irrelevant in Amazon's hiring process?

4. Any general advice on making the Zoho → Amazon transition? Things to highlight or prepare differently?

If you've already interviewed at Amazon India, it'd be super helpful if you could share your interview timeline in the comments — how long from application to OA, OA to interviews, and interviews to offer/reject. Helps set realistic expectations!
