Getting screwed here

I feel like having any standards in 2026 is a good way to get screwed. I got fired from my job recently.

Fun Story if you care:

>I worked part time as a lube tech due to hours I need to work around for my son. I got paid end of the month, then halfway through the next month everyone got paid, except for me. I brought it up to the Area Manager and he threw his hands up and said: it's your bank not us! just wait. I waited 23 days! I came in everyday. I finally told my boss I wasn't coming in until my check was there, then I sent a text to the owner. I missed a day of work, my boss knew, the next day I got paid. I came in the next morning and got fired immediately.

I'm retired with pension so not the end of the world for me, but I do have a son with special needs so I have hours I have to work around. I'm free any time after 8am and no later than 8pm. To me seems pretty damn reasonable

I guess not in this economy since every employer has either demanded I be available 5am or I start later and stay past midnight, not a single shift exists in-between.

Blows my mind

No idea what im doing

So I'm an older guy for context, my friend back in high school mentioned being a furry so I know what it is, we talked about it back in the early 2000's.

Never really cared thought much about it, been seeing stuff on tiktok, i think like cons or something not sure what they are called (I live in texas).

Thinking it looks kind of fun. Maybe i can open up a bit be a bit more . . . me behind a mask if that makes any sense. But really don't know where to start or anything about it and iv'e reached out a few places and never heard back anywhere there was a sub for my area but they don't allow any posts.

10-Point Civil Service Pref Rejected

Location: Texas

I applied for a job at USPS when I was in Las vegas and im a disabled veteran. They wanted to hire me and approved my vet pref an app almost immediately, but hadn't been back in the country long enough.

Moved to texas number of years later I applied to the post office out here.

They not only rejected my vet pref but told me I dont qualify. I furnished the letter from the VA, my dd214, everything and they stripped my 10 point pref from my profile and shortly after rejected my application entirely.

Not once, but twice they sent me a letter saying I dont qualify for it so they were removing it
