Rifle not as described
I'm a type 03 FFL. I bought a Weatherby Mark XXII rifle from a dealer in Oklahoma. It was listed with a cracked stock and had sharp pictures of the crack but the rest of the pictures of the rifle were soft focused. I paid $495.00 shipped "out the door". When I received it I noticed that there was considerable rust on the barrel and receiver. I contacted the seller 18 hours after receiving it to let him know I wasn't happy that he omitted the rust in the description. He replied that the pictures of the rust that I sent him weren't of the rifle he sent me. I then sent a picture that showed both the rust and the serial number of the rifle and he denied that the barrel on the rifle was the one he sent the gun with. I then sent him pictures from his very own listing that shows the rust while the gun was in his possession but he continues to deny and I guess accuse me of changing barrels on the rifle as if I had a mid 1960's Italian made rusty barrel just waiting to be put on a $495.00 beater 22. I have continuous chain of custody video of this rifle from the time Fedex drove up to my property to this very moment and continuing on showing nothing was changed on this rifle and it is exactly as it was when he sent it to me. I have now filed complaints with both the Illinois and Oklahoma Attorney Generals Offices. The sad part for him is I wasn't even asking for anything from him other than his acknowledgement that he omitted disclosure of the rust.
