can’t order this online for pickup because it’s “on clearance”. Go to the store, it’s regular price, and not a darn thing the manager can do. The manager confirmed it is indeed on clearance, but the price doesn’t actually drop for 2-6 weeks. WTF?
I also added a blower to the deal, and Home Depot let $750 walk out the door.
I am desperately wanting to get out of my electric heat pump (only 6 years old) and into gas heat.
I had Carrier and Trane come to the house, and pretty sure I decided on Trane, mostly due to the reputation as well as the market I live in has 2 premium Trane dealers.
Now here is the issue…Trane company 1 quoted a “better” and “best” system, the S9X2 with a 2.5 ton ac and a 3 ton ac. Company 2 came in much cheaper for exact models, but also suggested the S9V2 and a sealed Aprilaire air filter cabinet.
Obviously a load calculation will make the determining decision on the 2.5 vs 3 ton ac, my question is, for only $500 difference between the S9V2 and S9X2 (both with the XL824 thermostat), which would be the best as far as total cost of ownership as well as longevity?
Now I wait for Mohela (ugh). StudentAid was FAST certifying employment and updating counts, can’t wait for this chapter to be over!
