Question about returns initiated through app on last day of 30 day return period

If the last day to return an item is listed as August 16th in the app and the return is initiated on the app on August 16 but cannot be dropped off until August 17th, is it considered to be within the return window since it was initiated in the app or will it be denied for return once it’s dropped off?

Before I have to field a dozen questions, no I couldn’t make it there this weekend due to not having access to a truck. I had given up hope but after going through the app I’m now wondering if it would process it with today’s date and I can drop off tomorrow when I do have truck access.

Appreciate your insight.

Cheaper padding for DIY only?

Just had a guy come measure the house and said there were only two options for 7/16” 8ib pad one at $.99/sq ft and the other at $1.09/sq ft, Nike or Traffic Master. I found this at $.41 sq/ft but he said that was only for DIY. Is that true?

Home Depot's future Muddy?

A trip to Home Depot exhibited some interesting changes yesterday. I have 3 HD stores within 5 miles of my home, but one seems to have both a larger share of builders and renovators AND more knowledgeable staff thus I try to go here most.

Yesterday, I noticed that the parking was not full as normal, and HD had removed its Veteran Only parking. Previously HD offered Vets 10% off, then reduced it to 5%, now it seems they don't care about Vets.

The store added "out buildings" into the parking which deleted some space. Upon entering the store, the greet staff is far more helpful and knowledgeable about product locations than before. I expected the interior to be more crowded with customers based upon cars & trucks in lot, but it was not. Many products are now within metal cages, and the paint department had only 2 workers.

I was looking at 2'x4' tiles to use for a kitchen island countertop I saw on a YT video. Their stock of both 2'x4' and 2'x2' tiles was very limited in choices and shelves were almost empty. In a very close aisle 6 employees were standing together engaged in convo, but were helpful when questions were asked.

On checkout, there was no lines, and 2 of 6 self registers were empty. This is a very muddy picture to me about the company and its future stock prices.

Do you have any thoughts?

Stumped by a delivery

HD made a delivery today and the hydraulic hose blew out. The driver’s solution was to leave the lift in the street and drive away. The local HD said he was a sub. It’s been an hour and still no response. How do you think the neighbor is going to like that oil on his pavers?

Home Depot scamming drivers by putting smaller dimensions to pay you low

It started happening to my last weeks

You see that marked item? It says 1 by 6 by 14 inches item shows before accepting the gig, and you ofc think its something small item

But when you start the gig, it 12 FEET fking lumber

Similar thing happened 2 days ago:

Dimensions was saying 92 x 24 x 1 inches but when I got there it was 92 x 48 x 1 plywood
I used to trust Home Depot

But not anymore

Are my coworkers and I unreasonable?

Hey guys, the premise of this issue is regarding hours; I know we’re in a crunch for hours this season and my co-workers and I are part time. However, we feel like we’re being mistreated.

So, we simply asked for more hours (and there is room for it according to our DS’s). However, our store manager is refusing and not letting us get hours since we’re “protesting.”

For context, every month my coworkers and I average around 11-15 leads - we’re garden and plumbing. We get a lot of work done (when we had hours), produced more leads than flooring, appliance, millwork. Actually, we are the ones getting leads for those departments, not the old hags that work there. However, since they’ve cut our hours to basically >20, we haven’t gotten as many leads. The Lead Manager keeps telling us to get more leads and we tell him we can’t because they’re expecting 40 hours of work to be done in 20 so we can’t focus on that.

Then eventually we just told management we’re not doing 40 hours of work just to be yelled at for not completing it fully in 20. All of our DS’s keep fighting to give us hours cause they see we work hard but they’re being pressured by the store manager to make us work but they know we can’t.

Idk I’m just annoyed.

Then the lead manager pulls me aside and ask what he can do to make us get leads. I told him to fire the old folks in flooring because they’re expecting haven’t gotten a lead in 4 months and can’t lift anything - they’re useless. He got mad but every DS agrees too. Then the manager tells me to move these big flooring boxes and I say I can’t because I’m 2 weeks post surgery for my broken wrist. He talks shit about me and says I’m a “lazy fuck.” Sorry but shouldn’t that mean you fire the old people because they’re expecting haven’t can’t even do their job description and lift.

I’m just so frustrated. It’s not my fault you choose to keep unhealthy, fat old people who don’t even do their job on payroll. I say that because my department has a fit 67 year old who actually can move.

This is just ridiculous. It’s not protesting because we don’t get hours to do everything or mean not wanting to break my wrist again. Then saying I’ll get fired if I don’t provide the X-Ray???? I WAS IN A CAST.

Is Home Depot falsely advertising the DW735 router?

Home Depot web site list the DW735 planer for $659, claiming it is $200 off from $859. But $859 is the regular price of the DW735X planer. Which includes additional set of cutting knives, folding in-feed and out-feed tables.

IMO this is deceptive and false advertisement.

3rd Party Delivery Issue

3rd Party Delivery

Does Home Depot need me to initiate a chargeback so they can collect the insurance on a high value item lost or stolen by a 3rd party delivery service? My item was marked as delivered by the delivery service with no proof (photo or signature). Well there was a photo of an empty driveway somewhere. Ive spent hours speaking with associates and the outcome each time is them asking me to do a chargeback since they cannot refund based on he said she said. WTH? It is the craziest thing I have ever heard of. Im just trying to figure out their angle. They aren't getting it back from the thief at the delivery service so I guess this is a way they can recoup some of the loss rather than a total item loss by refunding me. Maybe Im overthinking this?
