Tiny buckets??

Greetings,

Anybody know if the tiny buckets that were briefly available last winter are going to come around again? That *other* big home improvement chain had more of their tiny buckets at my local store recently, but I haven't seen any at Home Depot in months.

Thank you for your time.

Over Scheduling Deliveries Then Not Delivering

We were number 14 on the list to get our washer today, so of course, it was never delivered. Now, Home Depot has graciously offered to put us at the end of the delivery line on THURSDAY so they can NOT deliver it again. According to the scheduler, 6 other people didn’t get their deliveries either. We told the scheduler no thanks. We are canceling our order and buying elsewhere. I suggest you buy elsewhere too.

Husky lifetime warranty not so much

So I bought some Husky pliers about 8 years ago and honestly they’ve been great tools. Recently though, the handles started coming off, making them uncomfortable and annoying to use. Since Husky tools supposedly have a lifetime warranty with no receipt needed, I decided to take them to my local The Home Depot for an exchange.

The lady at the return counter was friendly, but it seemed like she was either new or didn’t know how the warranty worked. She went to ask a supervisor and another employee about it. That’s when things got weird.

Both employees immediately started making gestures and facial expressions basically saying “you’re not exchanging these here today.” They told me I needed to go through the Husky website, fill out forms, mail the tools in, and wait for replacements by mail.

One of the employees also kept asking why I wanted to speak to a manager if “the tools weren’t going to get exchanged anyway,” and she kept insisting on a specific MOD handling it. Not sure why.

Long story short, I asked for the manager, the manager came over, processed everything without an issue, and I walked out with both replacement pliers.

So now I’m wondering… has anybody else had inconsistent experiences with the Husky lifetime warranty at Home Depot?

Set by default "In Stock at Sore Today" on the app and website

I am not sure if it's possible but I have not been able to find the setting, but I would like to default to check items in store today....when I go to hd app\site I am not there to buy online, i usually need it now and it's a matter of driving over (or getting it delivered).

The app on the phone is slow and having to change to in stock at store today is a bit annoying...even when I am in the actual store looking for items :/

thanks!

Does HD not check returns and verify serial numbers when returning an item? I’m seeing a lot of posts of people buying new but getting home and finding a used items.

Met being jerks?

Our met team takes the only 3 mobile zebra carts from the floor and their own zebras during their shift. After Mets shift, they lock their own zebras in their closets. Now because clearly everyone is using the only 3 mobile zebra carts we have on the floor, they are always breaking down or failing. Now we have no way of getting into the met cabinet because of the chains and lock. This seems very unproductive because now no one from the departments can print any stickers because no operating zebras are available. Management has yet to help with anything even after we’ve talked about just cutting the chains. Is this really allowed by met?

curbside pickup

curbside pickup is allowed from 9am to 6pm at my local home depot. i've place countless pickup orders from 12pm-5pm over the last few months. each time the order doesn't get fulfilled/i don't get notified its ready until 5-15minutes after 6pm.

why?! is it just incompetence on the workers part? do they just not want to bring out my order? is there an issue with the mobile app orders getting over to their stores and they don't know about the order until late? i've never had a single order labeled as ready before that 6pm cut off.

i still pull up (i live <10 minutes away) and call the store, and they always mention the 6pm cut off time but still bring it out asap with no further questions. that might be asshole-ish of me but at this point i don't care cause how on earth has every single curbside pickup order ive placed always be ready RIGHT after 6pm?! it doesn't make sense

does this happen to anyone else?

Questions about return policy?

I bought a portable AC unit on the 10th because my AC went out and it was 84° in my apartment. I read after I purchased it that there was a 7 day return period, which is fine because I'm still within that timeframe. But then I looked on the website and it says the box needs to be sealed/unopened, which it's not.

Do you think they might be able/willing to process the return anyway? I used it for two days before my AC was fixed and I don't really have the extra $300 to just say "oh well" if I don't get it back. I kept all the original packaging/wrapping and was planning to package it up properly before returning it. I would feel bad just pretending like I never used it because I did use one of the window sealing pieces and I don't want them to put it back on the floor and someone else buys it with missing pieces.

Return gift card is not a gift card

Here’s a friendly warning for anyone returning an item. When they ask you if you would like the amount on a gift card, it’s actually not. Sincerely Lifelong Lowe’s shopper from now on.

Home Depot / Andersen 100 Window failed inspection due to an egress issue

Has anyone accepted Home Depot replacing the factory hinge with a 3rd-party hinge?

My new Andersen 100 Series casement windows failed inspection because the opening isn’t wide enough. Currently, the hinge point is about 8 inches from the corner. HD wants a 3rd party to swap the factory hinges for ones that pivot from the extreme corner.

Will this cause issues due to structural stress? These aren't designed to support all that weight at the very edge of the frame, and I'm concerned about increased warping and weakening from drilling additional holes in the frame.

Home Depot said they would warranty the window, but I'm concerned that it will shorten the window's life and difficulty getting it fixed later.

Has anyone accepted this fix? Did the windows sag or leak later? I’m leaning toward rejecting this and demanding a factory-compliant solution. Thoughts?

Home Depot lack of Cedar Fencing throughout all of New England

We use cedar fencing for many things, but mostly smaller fenced areas to keep critters out - deer can jump up to 7ft. We require something rot-proof that lasts a while. We like the look and durability of the cedar picket fencing modified for our needs. However, we live in New England, and Home Depot has zero throughout New England. Smaller mills don't carry because it is not something that is grown here too much, and what is, are usually large pieces.

I cannot find any publicly documented explanation — no news articles, trade reports, antitrust filings, exclusivity agreements, or consumer advocacy coverage — that explains why cedar fence pickets would be consistently unavailable across all six New England states at Home Depot while being available just across the border in New York.

This sharp regional cutoff — all of New England but not New York — does suggest a deliberate regional distribution or procurement decision, not some random supply chain gap. Or I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Don't get me wrong, there are other solutions, but now I'm just so annoyed that Home Depot is pulling this crap, I'm looking for an answer. Yes. I am filing a formal inquiry and contacting the AGs office, but I wondered if anyone here has insights. Thx

Ship to store fiasco

I don't like having expensive things sent to my home. It was a 2 day free shipping option or ship to store which had up to 4 days. So I just did that to make sure I didn't have to worry about being home.

Now, it has already been 3 days after today. And its new ETA is Wednesday of next week! It sat as "shipped" but really, just a label was printed, and it was only actually shipped late today by the tracking updates.

Who has that long to wait?! Why ws the online order so incredibly misleading? Is this normal? I will just go elsewhere with my business. I'm tempted to cancel and order elsewhere at this point. Going to checkout in my app right now says 2 days to home. 3 other retailers can get it to me ASAP. I hate dealing with returns/cancelations.

It's going UPS same as if it was shipped right to me.

Is this normal? How can it take a week to get a small-medium sized box into the store and 3 days to even bother shipping it when I get stuff in from Ireland in 3 days despite customs?!?!

Home Depot Orders

Hello everyone, has anyone here experienced issues using Home Depot gift cards when placing orders?

I’m using a VPN and the same setup I’ve always used because apparently it works that way, before I didn't have to use a VPN but since the issue occurred I figured out they might block e gift card payment method, so that's why I am using a VPN. It used to work perfectly, but after placing a large batch of orders (around 98+), my main account ended up getting banned and I couldn’t log in anymore.

I created a new account, and while everything else works fine, I can’t use gift cards at all. Every time I try, I get an error saying the payment method isn’t available. The gift cards themselves are valid, but the system won’t let me apply them on my end.

Also, I am a contractor for mid construction company, so that would explain my bulk orders or quantity, as tools is mostly needed in our projects.

Is it possible that Home Depot flagged or restricted my IP address or blocked gift card usage due to unusual activity? Would appreciate any insights from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

How can a tool box be out of stock for months and months?

I’ve been ready to buy the red version of this toolbox combo since January, but nearly every color option has been out of stock nationwide for months. What the hell is going on when the only company selling husky tool boxes can’t handle selling them?!
