FeLV cat with recent eye problems

FeLV cat with recent eye problems

Hello,

My girlfriend's cat (Globe flower 9/yo F) has lived with FeLV her whole life with zero issues. Not a sniffle or sneeze in the 6 years that we've been together.

Overnight last weekend, we woke up to her having a very puffy inner eye, which progressed during the day to her entire eye being swollen.

We immediately took her to the vet. They said that she has an eye infection, and there's an area behind her eye that is either infection or a tumor.

They sent me home with Gabapentin, Robenacoxib tablets (3), Amoxi-clav drops (amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) and neopoly ointment.

We're to administer the medicine until this coming Thursday and we have another appointment.

So far (4 days) no improvement on the eye, and Globe seems incredibly subdued.

What can we expect? I don't know if this is just life with an FeLV cat, and sometimes they have flair ups?

Is there anything else we can/ should do? I feel helpless. Thank you

How to revive dead soil

So last year, our neighbor let my girlfriend garden on about a 15x15 area in his garden, that had been covered by black plastic for over 20 years.

He hasn't lived at the property for almost 15 years now, and says the garden has been under the tarp since at least 2005.

She didn't till the soil at all (besides with the hand tiller which doesn't do much) and just planted the seeds she had started in the house. Green beans, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, squash and one small decorative pumpkin seed.

Within about three weeks, everything EXCEPT the single pumpkin plant died. We must have had about 75 pumpkins.

The question I have, how should we revive the soil. I've read conflicting information on tilling VS not tilling.

We have access to the whole garden this year (30x50) and I'd like to help make it more productive.

Thanks in advance.
