The title basically says it. Almost every other adult character, with a few exceptions, is referred to by their family name, whereas Chuuya is universally referred to by their personal name. Whereas Dazai is always Dazai and never Osamu, even when he was a kid. The other exceptions that I can think of are Ango, Fyodor, and Ranpo.

Also, Chuuya doesn't seem to mind. Like at all. The only time he does seem to mind is that time in Wan when he met Atsushi. He seemed more curious than upset by it.

At first I thought it was Dazai's doing. Like a way to be familiar with friends and slightly insult Chuuya. Then other people took it up like Atsushi mentions in Wan. But that doesn't quite fit. Mostly because of Ranpo. In the Entrance Exam, Kunikida was already calling Ranpo by his personal name rather than Edogawa when Dazai first joined

There's this scene in 55 Minutes >!it is when Annihilation has been detonated and Akutagawa is in the woods. He thinks he is about to die and says, "Even if one were to bathe in the eternal wind and simply become foam in the great sea without ever knowing who they were-without even getting a farewell . . . the heart shall not move, for it is nothing compared with the loneliness of passing . . . without you ever knowing."!< Who was not knowing? And what weren't they knowing?

I see two possibilities: the first being Dazai not knowing how strong Akutagawa is.

The second I see as less likely because it's based on the headcannon I have where Akutagawa knows Higuchi loves him but doesn't respond to her either way because >!he's dying of a lung condition.!< The possibility is that Higuchi not knowing what Akutagawa thinks of her.

Takeoshi is mentioned only once, that I can tell, in Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam. In a journal entry Kunikida mentions that the two of them went for a walk in the moonlight.

The fan wiki has nothing on them. I was just curious if Takoshi is a reference to someone in the real Kunikida's life?

I'm on my reread of Storm Bringer, and I had a random thought/hypothesis.>! In the lab with N when he drained the embryonic fluid from the tank holding the Chuuya clone and the clone turns to goo. If Yosino had been there, could she have stopped the goo-ification process with her ability? In an AU could there have been two Chuuya's?!<

Mostly just wanting to know ya'll's opinion on this thought.
