Kana king bed in walnut: setup and first night review
I purchased the FlexiSpot Kana Bed in king size with the walnut finish, and overall I’m very impressed with it. The build quality exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. Everything feels solid, well-made, and once assembled there’s no creaking or wobble.
The standout feature is the Japanese-inspired joinery. Assembly was genuinely enjoyable—it all fits together precisely, requires no tools, and only uses a handful of thumb screws to lock everything in place. The corner wedges really lock things in and it’s super cool to see the frame get super rigid so quickly. The instructions were clear, well-illustrated, and easy to follow, making the entire process straightforward from start to finish.
All of the parts arrived well-packaged and in good condition. One of the support legs that go under the bed had a small cosmetic blemish, but since it’s on the inside and completely hidden after assembly, it doesn’t affect the appearance or function of the bed at all.
After sleeping on the bed for the first time, it held up great. Totally silent, no creaks, no movement at all. This frame feels like something we’ll have for a long time.
Overall, I’m happy with the purchase. If you’re looking for a sturdy, attractive platform bed that’s simple to assemble and has some thoughtful engineering behind it, I’d definitely recommend the FlexiSpot Kana Bed.
