Clearlake Oaks CA man mauled to death by two pit bulls.

This is the same area a mother and her daughter were just mauled by a loose pit bull a few months ago.

From the article:

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities have identified a Clearlake Oaks man killed last week when two neighborhood dogs mauled him.
Roy Charles Clayton, 71, was the dog attack victim, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Sheriff’s p.m. Thursday after two callers reported a male screaming, dogs barking and a pit bull running around the area, covered in blood, according to radio traffic of the incident.

Reports came in of a pit bull running around the area, covered in blood, according to radio traffic of the incident.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Lauren Berlinn said deputies responded to reports of a person calling for help.
Authorities later reported over the scanner that the incident was confirmed to have taken place in the 100 block of Spring Road, off Henderson Drive. Berlinn’s Monday report also put the incident at that address.
While radio traffic indicated Animal Care and Control would not respond

Animal Care and Control Director Rachel Smith told Lake County News in a Monday email that the responding on-call Animal Care and Control officer was the first to locate Clayton and at least one of the suspected attacking dogs.
Berlinn said when deputies arrived at the scene they found Clayton deceased in the yard of the residence. “Based on the initial investigation, it appeared Clayton had been attacked by the dogs.”

On Monday, Smith said both of the dogs believed to have been responsible for the attack appear to be female American pit bull terriers.
She said both were discovered to have blood on them while the Animal Care and Control officer was on scene.

One dog appears to have sustained a relatively minor injury to its neck but we are attempting to determine how the injury was caused. That dog is being medically treated while at the shelter to ensure humane care as is our duty regardless of circumstances,” Smith said.
Berlinn said the responding Animal Care and Control officer reported having had no previous contacts involving the dogs or their owner.
“The initial investigating Animal Control Officer and I both interviewed one of the dog owners on Friday and they willingly surrendered one of the dogs to the shelter for euthanasia,” Smith said in a Monday email. “However, given that this is still an ongoing investigation, we are continuing to hold both dogs alive for the time being due to public health quarantine procedures and legal proceedings.”

We live up here on Palomar Mountain, and last night while on our walk, there were tons of police in the park. They found a body in the state park

Last night my husband and I were walking the dogs in the state park and saw tons of police cars. A man on scene said they found human remains In the park. I’m wondering if it’s connected to Angelica Brophy since it’s the same park and we don’t get many bodies found there.
