Car theft in Oceanside

If anyone living off the 76 and College Blvd have any camera footage of my black SUV being driven at 4:43 on August 19 please dm me. Someone stole my car and my purse from my home early this morning. They went to Walmart and McDonald’s from the charges on my card.

What is the going labor rate for full service auto shop?

Like the subject says, just curious if anyone knows what the going rate for labor is at a full service shop. One shop recently quoted me $195 per hour which seems a little high. Had an alignment shop quote me about $135 for a lower control arm assembly on an older Lexus sedan. That seemed reasonable. Shopping around now. Thanks!

Sheriff helicopter circling La Costa area

Police helicopter has been circling the La Costa golf course area for the last 30 minutes broadcasting an announcement. Too garbled, can't understand what the message is. Called the sheriff helicopter hotline and was told they have no information yet regarding this. Any idea what's going on?

A nearby low pressure system is giving us a reprieve from weeks of extreme heat, but temperatures are set to warm up again by next week.

When did the Carlsbad Beach get so rocky?

Went to the beach for the first time this year and there were so many rocks there! Last year it wasn’t like that. What happened to make it be so rocky?

Masseuse

Looking for a legitimate (meaning experienced, capable, clean) masseuse in North County (preferably Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido area) that does Athletic Recovery type massage, and has their own place of business (not one that comes to your home). I have been disappointed with what I’ve found on-line and I don’t like the chains such as Massage Envy which are entry level at best. Any suggestions/personal recommendations would be great. Thank you.

Who booked these violent kooks for supergirl comp?

Hippie Sabotage is an EDM duo who rose to notoriety in 2016 when they’re set ran along and a security guard asked them to stop. Instead of obliging and wrapping it up gracefully, they put that poor bastard in a headlock and double teamed him.

I don’t know about you boys, but I’m not a big fan of a 2-on-1 one fight. This is some true, not worthy of our city, talent in my opinion. These guys are trash.

And I don’t say that lightly. I try to be polite and have a PR background, but I had to speak up about this.

Has anybody else noticed Tacoma drivers being straight up homicidal?

It seems to have started around when the newer Tacoma body style came out. These new tacomas will come at you from behind going twenty over on a four lane highway, like they’re about to rear-end you, then ride your ass before dramatically swerving over to cut in front of you and take off 30mph faster than traffic. I know I’m not imagining it since I’ve been behind other cars this has happened to (myself not involved).

The whole time, not one signal. It’s always some dude bro with a baseball hat and sunglasses.

Now I’ve noticed the older body styles imitating the behavior of their bigger nephews..

WTH is going on 😂

Brewery Recommendations?

Looking for:

  1. Inland at least a little ways - just don't want a crowded Sunday afternoon beach spot
  2. Dog-friendly
  3. Good shade (assuming we'll be outside what with the dog)
  4. We're not really that discerning about the beer, most any craft beer is good for us

Just moved here✨🩵

Hi I’m a 26 year old girl who just moved maybe 10 minutes from Carlsbad Village! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a new girl who is open to making friends, loves acting and ofc the beach but wants to try new things besides workout classes -thank you in advanced for any suggestions :,) I’ve been trying to motivate myself to leave the house and just get out there but wow idk why I’m so intimidated! I’m from OC have lived in La so I’m not new to CA but somehow still find myself nervous to put myself out there🩵(my place also has a gym here I unfortunately didn’t find any gyms I liked in the area but that was one con I heard about north county but still going to the gym wouldn’t be putting myself out there anyway since I would just put my headphones in and do my own thing) just wanted to be as specific as possible about the sitch so thank you if you even read all this 🩵
Sincerely, just a girl on this floating rock 🫶

Sinus/Viral Respiratory Infection Outbreak

Hello,

I work in urgent care in Carlsbad and in the past 2 weeks we have seen a huge surge of patients coming in with the following symptoms:

- Sinus Congestion
- Sneezing
- Loss of Voice
- Post Nasal Drip
- Body Aches
- General Fatigue
- Dry Eyes and Mouth
- Shortness of Breath
- Loss of appetite
- Upset Stomach

We have been testing for influenza A and B and Covid and symptomatic patients are testing negative for both. We have also been checking for sinus infections and have also found those to be negative.

We are not entirely sure what the virus is yet and are currently working on further testing. It is also unclear if it is airborne or direct/indirect contact.

Currently we are prescribing decongestants and recommending DayQuil to ease symptoms.

Just wanted to post this to remind people to wash your hands frequently, stay home if you’re feeling unwell, and wear a mask if you must go outside while experiencing symptoms. Flu season is also just around the corner so make sure to stay up to date on your shots. The strong El Niño cycle often brings with it a more severe and earlier influenza strain.

Hope this helps, will update once we learn more.

Edit: More advice in the comments below for what we have been telling patients. Please consult with your primary care doctor if you have any other health complications such as asthma, chest pain, or elevated blood pressure.

Cox to Spectrum?

I read in the UT this morning that a merger was approved for Spectrum buying out Cox. We're in a Cox neighborhood. There have been brief outages but nothing major in recent memory. My rate hasn't changed for a few years. Well what's done is done, I'm just hoping not to get notification that Spectrum is raising my rates, lowering my speed, whatever. The monopoly on broadband coverage is such a scam.
