[ALL] Life is Strange 1 is a Story of Friendship
There's something incredibly powerful about true friendship. It transcends all labels and subcategories; it's just purely about caring for another person, and them caring about you. Not to say that friendship isn't messy; friends can have falling outs, they can have fights, they can take vastly different directions in their lives.
Max and Chloe are childhood best friends. Max was practically part of the Price family growing up. William's death was tragic, Chloe lost her father, and Max lost someone who might as well have been her own family. This, coupled with Max being forced to move away, created a strain on her and Chloe's friendship.
When I play Life is Strange, I see a story about the deep, but estranged friendship, and a desperate journey to regain it before it's too late.
The game certainly gives options to turn that friendship into a romance, and even nudges the player in that direction. But, for me, the purity of their friendship and the struggle to keep it alive, is what makes Life is Strange such a great story.
